Must reside and work IN CANADA at least until the parents have landed.
If CIC finds out sponsor has gone abroad they may cancel the application. I don't think sponsor can go work abroad during the process

Thank you for sharing your opinion. :)

Hi,

I have received an email today from CPC-CTD-OTTAWA@Cic.gc.ca. They have requested to send 1 document within 7 days. They have not mentioned how do I need to send that document. Whether I should reply back on that same email or should I send it by courier/mail? They have not even mentioned the address where I can send any postal mail. I am really confused where to send the document.

Please help.......

Well that is the email id for the Ottawa office. Is your parent case being processed by Ottawa.

Considering they expect a reply within 7 days I would guess they want a prompt return email reply. They always want original police certificates but copies of other documents is usually fine.

Would you mind sharing your timeline details. When did you apply, have you done medicals yet.

I would just send a scanned copy to Ottawa.
Put your file number in the subject line and write urgent.

Ottawa are fairly good at acknowledging emails.

Hi guys,

Thank you for creating this thread. I have a question - is income compared to the corresponding year's LICO+30% or to the latest figure?

If we provide income for the past 3 years and the application has only ONE field for the minimum income, so there might be a situation when income meets the requirement for the corresponding year, but is below the current year's requirement.
Example: if I submitted an application in Jan 2016, I need to provide NOAs for 2012, 2013 and 2014. LICO+30% Table for 2 people is as follows:

2012: $36,637
2013: $37,708
2014: $38,272

What if my 2013 income is $38,000. It meets the 2013 requirement and fails the 2014 requirement. In the application form there is a place for only 1 number, so it would be $38,272 and when the officer looks at the numbers, he/she can conclude that my 2013 income fails the requirement.

Another question - what is LICO+30% for 2015? Will it be reported on the application forms submitted in Jan 2017?

It is very crucial for me, as my income for 2015 is around $39,500 and will be right on the border of the LICO+30% threshold. I have no problems meeting 2013, 2014 and 2016 requirements (planning to apply in Jan 2017).

Thank you very much for you help.

finally got my passport with visa stamp after 2.5 month
Congratz to u. when did u submit ur passport? I also submitted passport at vfs on 22.Feb.2016.

a question to all members, my parents police clearance will expire on Apr 1, 2016 and my dad's medical expires on May 10, 2016, but my mom's medical expires on Jun 25, 2016. Will they need to submit new police clearance and medical if the visa is not issued by that time. can they get upfront police clearance and submit the new police clearance before cic asks?

a week ago, i also received gcms notes after 2 months wait , the dependant on file is now a permanent resident in canada under humanitarian case. i emailed them on nov 12 telling that dependant is now permanent resident, but their gcms notes last update was on nov 18 which doesnt show update on the dependant case.

also my MP got response from cic a week ago and my mp office told me that my file should be reviewed anytime and everything seems to be in order, and if i dont hear from cic in 30 days, followup through the mp office.

should i email cic again telling them the dependant is now PR? should i ask my parents to get police certificate and submit to cic before they ask? if they get visa, do they need to move to canada before their police clearance or medical expires?

Hi all

I am planning on sponsoring my mom in 2019. Form what i know , I will have to meet income requirements for 2015, 2016 and 2017 in order to file for my mom and will have to maintain it through out the process.

Can anyone tell me the income requirement for a family of 2 and family of 3 for 2015?

If I have self employment income, the CIC will look at the net income or the gross?

One more question, if i use my common law partner income now, to meet the income obligations for 2015 and by the time I gonna apply for my mom, I am no longer in relation, will the income of my common law partner will be included or not?

Thanks in advance
