Hello,

I have posted this question in another thread but I think that was not the right place to ask the question. My question is general in regards to application for sponsorship of parents. I wonder what happens if I leave Canada and go to States for work for a year or two while my parent's application in under process? any similar experiences please let me know.

Must reside and work IN CANADA at least until the parents have landed.
If CIC finds out sponsor has gone abroad they may cancel the application. I don't think sponsor can go work abroad during the process

Anyone here lately got a PPR from Abu Dhabi Visa office?? Got mine on the 24th Dec 2015 and submitted the passports on 13th Jan 2016 at VFS centre in Dubai. Recieved by ADVO on the 14th Jan. Haven't heard from them since. Some people on here submitted on the same day has recieved their passports and i am still waiting. Getting bit worried and anxious now, was hoping to land before 15th march. Anyone in same situation.??

Hello everyone we heard from London visa office on 17th December where they asked about my brothers personal history and till date we didnt hear from them my Sister (our sponcer) called Mp yesterday where she told them our situation as its been 6 months from our medicals the Mp was kind and he answered all questions and told my sister that he will give a detailed update on whats going on with our file at the end of the week. Hoping to recieve ppr very soon inshaAllah will update what the Mp says at the end of the week too.

I have a similar timeline. My status changed to in process in December 4th2013 and I got my request for medicals. I did not receive any request for additional document though. I was wondering were you asked to resubmit your form when you got your request for medical? I am a bit concerned since it seems to be standard procedure to get the request the for the resubmission of forms

I want to share good new to everyone here. I just got email from SVO for PPR.

I have a query to ask everyone here that my mom old passport is expired on November 2016 this year (it means 9 months left) and the letter on PPR said that passport should be valid for at least twelve (12) months. And my mom did a new passport already. So my query is that should she send all both of old and new passport or only new passport to them? she has traveling history in her old passport.

Well, that was exactly my mom's case. You don't need to send old passport. Just email them updated/new passport and post the same passport to visa office. They have already your mom's travelling history as what you mentioned in Supplementary forms where Traveling history has to be mentioned. So don't worry, just go with updated new passport. And keep the old one (if valid for another visa like US) with you.

It all depends on fate and luck. I have gone through some similar case before. My friend sponsored his parents and he went to UAE (for job) at the stage when his parents got medicals and asked additional docs to submit. No one exactly knows how long sponsored application will take. Later, his parents landed safely and arrived in Canada. Not a single question asked by immigration officers about sponsor. They provided mailing address and contact number.

Yeah, don't worry. It goes well. But it'll take a month or 1.5 months in getting PPR after medicals (in most cases).

we contact Mp and in return we got a reply that our criminal and medicals are passesd . Our securitty backgrounds are in process and eligibility is also in process . Can anyone by their expereince tell what this means and how much more time for ppr ? Anyone else in same boat ? Our visa office is London

I would think in 1-2 days. Call vfs or check online to confirm before going to pickup.
