Hello Guys,
I would like to propose to add one more column to our spread sheet. Age of oldest parent. Just want to develop some pattern if they are intentionally slowing down files for older parents.

Thanks

HI,

my parents sponsorship application shows decision made for sponsorship and application received for permanent residence. it shows they sent me a letter on Nov 3rd regarding the decision but i havent received anything yet in mail. do you get sponsorship approval letter in snail mail or via email?

We received your application to sponsor on June 3, 2009.

We started processing your application on November 3, 2012.

We sent you a letter on November 3, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us

I got the sponsorship approval in the mail, 3 days after e-cas changed to show decision made, but I am in the GTA and am being processed in Ottawa. Everything else I have received has been via e-mail

A good idea to add a column for age group. A column was already added by someone. I have fixed it so that members can pick up age from the drop down list in the column PARENT AGE. Options are in 5 year increments starting at 40+, 45+........80+

I do backup the file few times every week with a date and time stamp. Do not get upset if someone deletes the spreadsheet intentionally or by mistake. Goodluck to all.

Congrats, I remember how upset you were and then were campaigning for that petition about LVO's. You must be relieved to see your mother come live with you soon

Congratulations!!

Just out of curiosity.

Is anyone on this thread sponsoring a dependent child over the age of 18?
and was it hard to prove they were still dependent?
thanks
:)

Hello Rajaji i agree nothing like having a open spreadsheet open to all.....as long as nobody's update will be missed....when that PERSON deleted info it wasnt people in groups it was someone's name, someone's date of application, someone's country or transfer date. You know nikpicking.. So if u can pay attention to these little things aswell then sure keep it open.....but again everyone's timeline is important to each and everyone of us.

Do you mean:
- Canadian parents sponsoring their dependent child or
- Canadian child sponsoring parents who have dependent children (sponsor's siblings)?

If its the former, I doubt you would find anyone here on this thread.
If its the later, there are many whose siblings turned 18 after the application was made (thanks to the long wait times).

If it's the later, my brother is sponsoring my mother and I, as a dependant. I was 18 when application was received by CIC in 2008 (my birth day is in September), I recently turned 23.

Sponsoring parents that have a dependent child

Is there any that were 18 when the application was filed? or is this not allowed?

Im curious because once the hold is lifted, we are hoping to sponsor my husbands mother and brother, the brother is a dependent, still going to school, living at home, not working etc. But he will turn 18 in 2013. So Im curious as to if its even an option to prove he is still dependent.
If not than he will have to come as an international Student.

Thanks for the replies

O okay, great, yes thats what I was wondering

So you have to stay a dependent untill approved correct?

Thanks for the reply, :)
