Hi guys,
Question to those whose parents had medical done in Canada: from your experience how long did it take to hear regarding medicals (i.e. either get medical received status or get furtherance request)?
My parents just did medicals just recently (couple of weeks ago) so I know it is way too early to expect to hear anything but I am just curious. Unfortunately, I am 100% sure my dad will get furtherance request (not sure about mom, hopefully none but it does not matter of course, as it is a joint application processing) so just trying to anticipate when it is likely going to happen.

Have anyone's parents been asked to see a specialist or get an expensive test (if in canada on visitor visa while doing medicals)? I think our xray report mentions that ct scan is recommended to confirm something about his lung (even though we did provide some past xrays, showign no changes for many years, but they are from the home country and may not be 'officialy' acceptable). So I am really worried they will ask for the scan (it is more than $1000 here :-( ) and / or specialist. Another x-ray would be no issue (not that expensive and I would be mentally prepared for that request) but ct-scan cost kind of 'hurts' ;D :'(

What happens if you start medical in one country (i.e. canada) but then have to go home because of visa expiry or other needs? (those furtherance things can take months of back and forth...)


I am hoping and praying for the best possible outcome of this process with medicals but trying to be prepared for 'curveballs'

Veeru you are right...and i personally check yours and sonu86's timeline for any updates. within 2 months it will be 1 year since your file went to ND cuz only after yours my turn will come. and i m 8-9 months behind you.

Wondering if anyone on this topic have got medicals validity extension as per above Bulletin? Of heard of someone who got it?
Would be interesting to hear if this new rule has been applied to at least some cases...

Best Suggestion to Everyone....... If your file has been transferred to New Delhi office, Weather they have asked or not to submit documents again, just send them a copy of paid receipt, If you have ordered CAIPS NOTES(Paper Copy) send them a copy of CAIPS NOTES as well. CAIPS NOTE(PAPER COPY) has all the documents that they are asking you to resubmit...... Just a thought, you can send both files and save yourself a time.... this way you are one step ahead of the game...... Most likely they are spending time by asking us to submit documents all over again...... Don't forget to send an e-mail with your file no, client id, and Name of Applicant........

I think she means that we should send pr fee receipt and physical file of "CAIPS". not documents

In my case I had requested paper copy of CAIPS NOTES in May 2012 so I can see what documents they have it on my mothers file. So I send them their PDF file of CAIPS NOTES and also copy of Landing fee receipt so they don't ask the same thing again to avoid further delay..... If you didnt request paper copy of CAIPS then I guess you would wait until they request.... But defenatly copy of landing fee I would send them regard less....
