P.S. About request to not inquire about a file, as it can cause delays:
It was me writing this 3 days ago, but is strictly related to the stage my mom's file reached: PP request , in order to affix the visa inside.

The email my mom receieved (anouncing her to send her PP) has this note (in French):
Veuillez vous abstenir de demander des renseignements sur l’état de la demande pendant cette période; de telles requêtes ne font que retarder le traitement de la demande.

Look at the date of request and due date for 2nd medical request then compare it with the date medical status was changed to Passed. That will give you a fair idea...

2nd medicals were requested in March - but we did not get the request... so did the medicals at the beginning of July only... status Mediclas passed updated on August 8...

If you mean flagpoling. You can find a lot of posts on this site and trackitt. Thousands of people have done that. when they don't have a US visa, they go to US border and tell them that they want to do Canadian landing. They were sent to second inspection at US border and issued an administrative refusal entry letter by US immigration. With that letter and all other docs for immigration they come back to Canadian border and complete the landing. The administrative US refusal letter has no adverse impact on any US visa application in future. However, declaring the refusal letter would be recommended on a visa application in future (that refused entry to USA).

It seems that application will reviewed on Sept 13. As you mentioned that criminality and security not started in your case. It could be possbile that CPP-O may waive security/criminality, if your parents are over 70.

Yes, September 13, 2012 is bring forward date for the file. It will be reviewed on that date and further decision/action will be taken...

my parents are not over 70...
September 13 has already passed - last GCMS notes are from beginning of October... still the Due date is in the past... and no update was made in September....

Hi All,

Here's a brief History:

Filed Parents Sponsorship: August 2008
Received Ack: Sept 2009
Request for Addition Docs (for Parents): November 2011
Sent the Package: January 2012
Received notification of application processing completion from CIC (file been moved to Visa office): April 2012

Now, I don't know how to track the application. CIC advised that all the visa applications are been processed in Ottawa (since 2011's change) through the OTT pilot program. I dropped them a note 3 weeks ago and requested to provide an update on the file. I also submitted IMM - 5476 "Use of Representative" file to and supplied them with my email address. I haven't received any email back from them.

Is there a way to get in touch with the Ottawa office (OTT Pilot program) to get status check on the file??? Would I be receiving a separate letter from OTT Pilot (CPP-O) office as and when the start working on the file?

I am just getting a little concerned as few of the friends parents have already received request for Medical (ones who were sponsored around the same dates). And, OTT/CIC often want the things done/returned within the time frame. I am hoping I didn't loose any correspondence from them.

Any insight on the matter would be much appreciated.

Some parents sponsorship applications are being processed in Ottawa and some in LVOs...

Do you know where your case was transferred? Did you receive a letter from Mississauga saying that you are approved as a sponsor? this letter usually says where the case was transferred...

i think that call centre agents are not always 100% accurate... does the letter from CPC-M also says that the case is in Ottawa?

i sent a couple of e-mails to CPP-O but always received automated response:

"Due to the high volume of correspondence received, we are unable to provide status update. The officer responsible for your file will contact you if any action is required from you. Please note the standard service time for Family Class application is twelve months from the date you received notice from Case Processing Centre Mississauga. In the meantime, please ensure your contact information with us is up-to-date."
