then i'm just unlucky one :(
Shuga, I honestly think that the fact that they started Criminality doesn't mean anything. They still take their time:( My mom's criminality started on May 08, 2012 with a due date of March 28, 2013 (the date when medical will expire).
I think it depends on an officer and many other factors.
Let's just all think positive.
Our visas will arrive soon! :)

Hi Suin - It dependes on which year you applied to sponsor your parent. Starting that year you need to maintain that income for all the years until parents get immigrant visa. Minimum income inceases by about 500-1000 dollars every year. Also, after you have applied for parents sponsorship, income maintenance increases if there is increase in family size (baby is born) during sponsorship or PR application is pending.

Let me know the year you applied for parent sponsorship and a family size at that time and also family size today. I'll get you the income you need to meet.

My mum came over for the summer in June and leaves October 26th. We had the medical request while she was here. My mum has type 2 diabetes (which is controlled with no further complications) so we have been informed this is no issue. However, my mum informed the doctor who did her medical that she had part of her lung removed 60 years ago due to TB...he then told her to expect her x-ray to come back abnormal which it did and that they will probably ask for a respitory test. She received a letter for respitory test, which is being completed this week. If you require more tests after your medical, they come through quite quickly so you should be ok.

Thanks so much for you reply! We are in a similar situation (my dad also had a similar issue 50 years ago so your case is very relevant!) Did your mom do this additional respitory test here in canada? (what is it by the way - is it a sputum test or whatever it is called?) I assume you had to pay extra for it, right? Did your DMP ask for any notes from your mom's doctor?

This is for 2012

Low Income Cut-Off (LICO)

4 persons

5 persons

6 persons

7 persons

$59,907

More than 7 persons, for each additional person, add

$6,099

Her test is on Wednesday so will let you know what it involves after she has completed. Yes of course it was extra (sarcastic sorry ::) cost is additonal $200.

No additonal notes asked for (as yet) as the procedure was successful and her treatment followed before she was allowed home...way back when.

hmmm... it looks like every case is being processed differently...
i see several activities created when CPC-M approved the sponsorship (Jan 18, 2012): Medical, Criminality, Security, Eligibility... all created by CPC-M in status Not Started... then file transferred to CPP-O and Medical changes to In Progress and then Passed... no changes to Security, Criminality or Eligibility...

did you send your PCC with all documents to CPP-M? may be that's the reason why your criminality checks has started before medicals?
I guess all these get created automatically during the file creation. I see them as Not Started by the time my sponsorship approved. I see criminality changed to In Progress on 2012/02/23. On the same day I see multiple statuses In Progress, Submitted, Batch Sent, No Reportable Trace for criminality.

I beg to differ from Shuga

Criminality on my parents app was started the same day I received the medical request.
I got the GCMS again last week.
Under my Mom's info for criminality it says : No reportable trace found
For my dad : It says in progress.
Seems different for each case, for me I see No Reportable Trace for both parents on the same updated date.

In my case CIC got the response "No Reportable Trace" back from RCMP on the same day (as per GCMS notes). However, I got the medicals request almost after couple of months. No other activity happend on my file until medicals request. Not sure what has happend in those two months. Also, its been 4 months since medicals passed and I dont see any other activity after that. I guess the files are waiting for an officer to pick up and review. Only thing we have is the hope.

I don't know, current status for criminality is still "In Progress" and updated date is 2012/02/23

thank you for your kind reply, rajmalhotra7. we really get worried, we just cannot fail our application. Our application year is 2010. there are 5 of us (husband, wife and three kids), and we are sponsoring just one parent - our mother.
we had enough money in 2009 and 2010, but 2011 was not filed properly and we are afraid that we are falling short...
please do help us to calculate the lowest income we need to show to be eligible to sponsor.
thank you so much in advance.

I received GCMS notes today, notes extracted on 2012/09/18.
Security: Not Started
Criminality: In Progress
Medical: Passed

Shuga, I see PCC info under Police Ceritificates section in Criminality. I see PCC expiry date set to 1 year from its date of issue.

I'm also in the same boat as you. I received GCMS notes last month;
Application Status "In Progress" since 2012/02/23, Medical- Passed, Criminality- In Progress (started before medicals), Security -"not started" -some people say the security field is blank when they're performing the checks but all my GCMS notes say "not started" for security...not sure how much longer it will take. :( :(
