busy without work i guess, if you have 10,000 files and a 6,000 quota there is no reason to sit on your ass and look at files.

LOL

Can someone advise how long the police clearances are valid for? I believe that they are valid for a period of 6 months from the date of issuance but can someone please confirm.

After getting the 90 day letter in March I got all of the Police Certificates done (for 4 different countries) but I am afraid I might have to do these again for my parents.

yesterday August 30 2012 my parents got a letter from LVO Paris :)
CONFIRMATION DE RESIDENCE PERMANENTE ( IMM5688 ) valid till 2013/05/16

they mention they will send (IMM5292) is that something they will mail to them or is the IMM5688 the same?

;D I belive it's over now right? OMG I'm over the moon :)

A PCC is generally valid for 12 months from the date of its issue. Once you have submitted it within this time frame, it is very unlikely that CIC would ask you to get the PCC done again.

Edit: Provided you submit it within the 90 days limit that the letter may have stated.

While boarding a plane, its normal practice to start with elderly and passengers with kids. CIC is doing the same by opening the gates to those people who applied from LVOs with a very low rate of applications. Our time will come, the plane won't leave without us :)

Does not look like it.

Thanks Sakamath.

So I guess then that PCC are only valid for 3 months and after that fresh ones need to be made.

Do you think I should submit the PCC without the CIC asking for it. I believe I read somewhere that they will return the letter under such circumstances.

You are confused between the 'validity of a PCC' and by 'when you should submit a PCC'. A PCC should be submitted within the time frame CIC has stated in their letter. Usually they give 90 days. At the time of submission, the PCC should be valid. That is, the date of issue of the PCC should not be older than 3 months from the date of your PR application.

Ideally, you should send the PCC only after CIC requests for it. You said your PCC is 4 months old. So you still have about 6-7 months within which time CIC should ask for PCC (this gives you 1 month to mail it back). If you get that request within this timeframe, you can mail in the same PCCs.

Medical Question

If have applied PR for my parents and they completed their medical last week. My Mother is the principal appliance and my father is on the application.
My dad underwent surgery for Pancreatic Cancer in December and is doing well now...MRI was done in June and there is no sign of cancer in his body so far.
I have a few questions

1. If my Father fails the medical test, will they refuse VISA for my mother also?
2. If they refuse VISA for my dad, do i have any options to appeal?
