that is odd, I see in my file that they marked to review file after 60 days date from medical issue date. let's see.

btw, did you got your file ordered, if so what does the notes say...

Apple Talk, I never ordered the notes.

it is possible they set 60 days to review the medical status... example if no response, on 60th day they will send another follow up letter etc. If my status changes before that I will let everyone know.

Right, it may be bring forward days to review the file again in case if medical results are not received.

In my case, I got the medicals request on April 16 and eCAS updated to medicals received on June 02.

Hi guys,

Here's our timeline.

First Applied to Sponsor: May 2009
Documents request: 30 March, 2012.
Docs sent to CPC-M: May 14, 2012
Docs returned for correction: June 27, 2012 (signature issue on 1 of the forms)....letter received on 9th july by mail.
Resubmitted docs: July 11, 2012....(as per CP delivery notice)

The copy of the docs request letter was date stamped with officer initials and dated 14 May 2012.
Does this have any significance?

Any rough ideas on when to expect CPC-M to resume processing or get an AOR or approval?
We sent it to the officer who wrote the letter.

Anyone else in the same boat here? How much time for 2nd time processing?

Hi Everybody,

Need some advice, i'm in process of sponsorship to parents (current status is AOR has been received in May 2012 after submitted additional documents in response to March 30th letter and waiting for approval). If I move to US for job purpose , will it have some affect on the sponsorship process (I'm Canadian citizen)? Can anybody help me with this?

Thanks.

As a sponsor, you must reside in Canada as there is obligation to support parents/grandparents once they arrive in Canada.

I would suggest you to remain in Canada, until they arrive. After that you can move out but you're still responsible to support them, because they are not entitled to welfare or social services......they can work but cannot take welfare.

@canvis2006: You would have to stay until process completed if you are a PR but not if you are a Canadian citizen. Being Canadian citizen you can move anywhere as long as you maintain your LICO requirment.

You must be living in Canada, especially when you sponsor your parents.
If you disclose that you move to the USA for work, your sponsorship will likely be declined.

Please read here
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp
The very last paragraph under "Sponsoring eligible relative" answers your question quite clearly.

It does not matter whether you are a citizen or PR. You must resign in canada for sponsorship.

I know a case when even spousal sponsorship was rejected because the sponsoring spouse lived in a nother country for more than 50% of time a year. For parents, you have to live in Canada 100% of time.

so if you are canadian citizen then you are exempted for spousal case only and not for parents case?
may be that person was not canadian citizen? and by the way, how CIC know that sponsor is living outside the Canada, apart from taxes they file, what if they dont work or work on cash etc?

in the original link i provided, CIC says that they allow spouses to live outside of Canada and still sponsor, but they do not allow it to children sponsoring the parents.

That person was born and raised Canadian sponsoring a spouse from the country where this Canadian now works about 50% of his time. The reason he was denied is that CIC only allows UP TO 50% a year for spouses, and he was slightly
over, spending abroad slightly over than 50% a year.

CIC will not automatically find this out. But if they will, it will be fraud. I would be super cautious to give CIC wrong info.

If you follow the right procedures before living the country Government will always know that you are living outside the Canada but its too bad that many people choose to break rules for their own interest. e.g. Not informing Health Canada that you will be out of Canada for longer period. Not informing CRA etc.

I really hope that Canada and US start exchanging data and act on that. Anyone break the rule should be strictly dealt with.

Read the link....the last paragraph in Sponsoring an eligible relative

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/sponsor/relatives-apply-who.asp

To sponsor any other eligible relatives (for example, parents and grandparents), you must be living in Canada.

so regardless your are PR or Citizen doesn't matter

It is possible. If you live in Quebec, you can go to http://www.rrq.gouv.qc.ca/en/invalidite/Pages/invalidite.aspx and read from there. However, if you have sponsored your parent for PR, you are liable to support them financially for 10 years after they go their PR. If they get money from the government, the government will most likely send you the bill.
