I have a good news to share. I got an email from Ottawa requesting Medical and Police Certificates. I have already sent PCC on March 29. I believe the email format is generic and they send Medical and PCC requests to everyone. In the email it does mention that you are not required to send the PCC again if you have already done that.
In addition to that, I have been asked to submit Marriage certificate for my parents. I already have an affidavit from them which I did not sent to CIC. Should I send the affidavit now or should I ask my parents to register their marriage and send original Marriage certificate??

Good to know about the progress on your application. Regarding Marriage certificate, I do not think that it is possible to register the marriage now (after a gap of so many years), the affidavit should work just fine. You have to send original affidavit so ensure you keep a copy of it.

All the best!

Congrats! This is great that your case now moved to that step!

I was unable to check status online for the last month. Finally, was able to log in this morning and found the following

We received your application to sponsor Mr. FirstName LastName on August 04, 2008.
We started processing your application on May 16, 2012.
We sent you a letter on May 16, 2012 about the decision on your application. Please consider delays in mail delivery before contacting us.

What's next ? How long will it take to get the letter for Medical?

Hi Isometric
I got the medical request today in 61 days. The time could change depending on the number of application e.g. files transferred in Jan 2012 got medical in 3-4 weeks, now the time is 2 months. Google document would give you a better idea on what to expect.

It also depends on where your file was transferred. Ottawa sends out medical requests faster. No one from the LVO's have received their medical letters. :(

Yes, a PCC is worded somewhat like that. However, are you the sponsor? I am assuming that to be the case. If so, the words on the PCC indicate that this pcc is for you and not your parents????

It was a sample off the net, can someone share a scanned copy of their PCC ( with names blanked out )- do they put current address too?

Thank you mohalite and sakamath for the reply.

Application sent to Local Visa Office for processing. That means, nothing sooner I guess :(

There are no address mentioned on a pcc.I have an image of the pcc but not sure how to post it.

Take heart. In the end, my gut feeling is that, there would not be too much difference in the processing times.

I agree with you, since the LVO's do not have much inventory the processing times should be better than what they used to be. Almost all pre Sept 2007 files have been cleared in most LVO's. Most of the files without dependents from 25 Nov 2011 batch have gone to Ottawa. This means LVO's have far less inventory.
