Congratulations!

Could you please tell me whether youyr parents are in their home country or they are visiting you now in Canada? My mother is visiting me and that's why I'm asking you this - I'm wondering whether CPP-Ottawa will have different instructions for the people who are now visiting Canada.

Thank you!

Many Congratulations to Nabh and Punjab, hope you recived the visa soon,
As I mention yesterday Ottawa ppl with in process and decision made keep your eye on your mailbox and inbox 
Ppl @ LVo ND and local LVo keep your faith up as we will get there soon. Remember we didn’t even thought that we will have our sponsorship approval letter by this year but with the changes things are moving slowly for us but its moving better then what it was before so keep your hope up and be patient 
:D ;D ;)

If it's any use to anyone I just asked our lawyer about progress with our application (meds done 18th July 2012,applied in June 2008 )see our timeline. We are going back to the Uk after a 6 month visit and were hoping to hear something soon. The lawyer told us that we may expect to hear in December or early in the new year about a decision. If that is correct then a 6 month wait from Ottowa processing after medicals would be what many of us might be looking at. Of course it may also depend on who handles your file so it may be faster or it may be slower. Hope we all get good news soon and that those who have waited longest get their visas sooner rather than later.

Congratulations Panjab &Nabha
So encouraging to see people getting PR visas.
@ Pari
so true.

1. Submit to consulate (New Delhi/Chandigarh) - Only by Mail, no personal/hand delivery.
2. Submit to the nearest VFS Canada - You can submit in person (A fee of Rs 670 per person applies.)

Consulate - 30 Days.
VFS - 10 working days

Good news and huge relief!!!!

I'm close to your timeline (started AUG 2007, med's done late APR 2012) so I hope I'll catch the next batch.

I have a (dumb?) question: What VFS stands for?

I thought the passeports are requested to be sent - by mail- to the Canadian Embassy in your home country.

VFS is an outsourced firm which is entrusted with the job of collecting documents, fees and ensuring all documents are correct and forwarding it for further processing to the counslate. I know India has one. This might not be the case fir all countries. If VFS is not there then you submit the passport to the counslate.

OK, thanks panjab & user828: yes, I googled it and looks like VFS (Global) does not cover all countries (not mine too).

VFS is everywhere, infact Indian consulate in Canada also does work through VFS
