Second part of my process was, let`s say, fast. The first part was looooong, 4 years of waiting.
And after 50 months I get my visa.
No dependents, only me.
My visa office is Vienna.
Thank you for your reply. It looks like Vienna is pretty quick with completing cases.
Has anyone received visas from Ottawa?

Congratulations, Teri!

Lesser volume of application, undeniably faster processing of application, you're so lucky!

so I'm in Canada and my parents are in India... looks like need to follow the second link...and according to that "medical results received" falls under decision made... Am I correct?

their medical were done on January 3rd 2012 and passports were sent on January 15th 2012. Landing fee was paid on March 20th 2012. I hope we get the visa before the medical expire.

Thank u Moraine for ur help.
All parents sponsorship is OUTSIDE, the INSIDE is only where you are sponsoring a spouse, just coz CPP-O is handling it, it doesn't make it inside Canada. CPP-O is simply processing case to shave of the buren

Well I found the Sponsorship/Permanent Resident Application doesn't say spouse in particular, this diagram just gives a rough idea and underneath modified date June 2012 so if I am wrong thanks for correcting! :)

Check the diagram, and previously ( b4 the temp pause of 2 years ), the app to sponsor parents was

Step 1: Get Eligible and once approved'
Step 2: Parents take that and apply in home country

There was no inside, and even then, they had to be living for 2-3 yrs till sponsorship is approved and its doubtful to get extensions for 2-3 years ( not be confused with super visa which is only recent )

Oh I am very familiar with Super Visa as my parents are here in Canada with Super Visa arrived April 2012. My first post here on July is about their recent medicals. I am open to new information and I don't mind being corrected. I am here to gain and share information. I don't mind being liked or disliked either. That's all. Thanks :)

It's not about being liked or disliked, but sharing correct information since this process has become very uneven and complex; especially between different LVO's and time frame etc

Oh well, I got some information here, but they aren't totally correct, but it gave me a rough idea and made me decide to check with CIC and my LVO as they are the most reliable source of CORRECT INFORMATION. Thankfully, I received return e-mails from both after one week with further instructions regarding my parents recent medical. Thanks to all here who helps others with all the best they can, the effort is much appreciated!

Since your parents are here, you had no issues sending passport to Manilla? did you give Canadian return address ? will they mail it outside country. If yes, that's pretty good, I wish it was same for us

Let's hope they removed it by mistake! I wish that is what happened and you will get letter with approval soon. Hoping the same for all of us!
I hope so too Mockava. Thanks for your response.

They still required me to send my parents' passports to Manila which I sent through XPRESSPOST on July 13. They stated in request letter that if the mailing address of where we want the passports to be returned is international, we will pay international COURIER FEE (noted that it will cost more) once the passports arrived at the international mailing address. We gave them our Canadian address. We'll see how this works.

Yeah and likewise I wish it will be the same to all applicants whose application has been transferred to the LVO. I know how it is and I feel yah guys! Good luck!

Hi, please do advise where the passports should be sent if CPP-O handling the case and the sponsored parent is in Canada? Can CPP-O issue visas or it gives instructions to local (resident country) visa office to issue visas even if the applicant (sponsored parent) is in Canada?
Thank you.

I dont think we have a case of it yet. We have to wait for passport request from CPP-O and see. Although I think one applicant was asked to submitt passports to Seattle Office while visiting in Western Canada - not sure if my memory serves me right.

Correct me if I am wrong.

Thank you for your reply. This really makes sense - if a sponsored parent is in Canada, what's the point of sending passport overseas to get a visa stamped, especially if Ottawa is handling the case. Lets wait and see...fingers crossed.
