After a very long wait I have good news to share as well. We received email from cpp- ottawa to submit the passport. Medicals done 20 March. Status to decision made changed since 04 Aug, however email for passport rcvd only 22 Nov.

Submitted application mid Dec 2011, procesing started July 2012, test 02 Oct 2012, oath 16 Nov 2012. Have not received the letter yet, as it was mailed Thursday only.

Wow! Too good to be true? Test taken 02 Oct2012, today I see ecas updated, that letter to take t.he oath was send Nov 1st to take the Oath in the 16! Not even a month processing time? Cannot beleve it! Anybody else? It is Glen Erin.

My cousin did the same thing, turned back with her nephew at the border to get his student visa entry. It did work, however must say it was 3 years ago and at Sault Ste Marie US/CAN border. I do believe it can be done at other borders as well.

Welcome to Canada Teri! Thanks for letting us know how you are doing. Glad all went smoothly. Yes long flights are not fun, but thanks to the airplanes we can visit other countries in hours, not weeks or months:-).

CIC has rigt to ask for proof of documents, even after visa is issued, so we should be prepared even at the border entry. I suppose different officer is looking at the file now for your sponsored person application. First one approved your sponorship, but this one is looking into more details...

Daubt that is the case. Our application filed May 2008, and I believe there are people with final results who filed after. Is this common to Europien countries by any chance? Maybe they have to do something different, although dont think so... Are we all waiting after decision made, are from...

Same here, same timeline - meds in March, decision made on 4th August. I believe also Northclare from this forum has the same situation.
