Is it the 1st extension for your mother? They usually request to undergo medicals just once. In our case they did not send us any forms, just asked us to do medicals, the doctor provided us with the required form and sent it to Ottawa.

yes, it is 1st extension for my mother and I requested for one year, they have provided this Form Imm1017E (GCMS Generated) on her my CIC account. Thank you Suin and User828.

A week after the submission of passports, my parents got a call from the CHC-I. They asked my parents to submit the updated police reports asap. They submitted it, after going through a lot of pain, on last Wednesday. Since then no contact.

The waiting has started again.

This waiting is generally the worst period bro. However, be positive and hope for the best.

But the letter says to do the medical within 60 days. Do they send Visitor record by mail or through MY CIC account? thank you. any comment USER? or SUIN?

They require medicals only on the case approval - positive decision (I sort of knew that this was the good news for you ). Yes, they will mail you both the extension of stay paper with the dates of her authorized stay and the form for medicals. That what happened in our case.

Sometimes you need to give them space to work, in this case - if you ask - they will have to open file again and delay it unnecessarily

Quick questions about parents sponsorship. I have filed parents sponsorship in July 2010 and I noticed some thread which were suggesting to fill "Representative Form" behalf of parents. I have not filed when I submitted my application. My questions about use of Representative Form:

1. How I can submit "Representative Form"?
2. What are the Pros and Cons for that?
3. How it would help me if I submit that?

I haven't yet got any 90 days document requests from CIC. Thanks for taking time and answering it for me.

It’s just a month into 2014, but the cap of 5,000 complete applications for parent and grandparent (PGP) sponsorship applications has already been reached. Therefore, new intake into the PGP program will again pause until next year to keep the program at a manageable level for Citizenship and immigration Canada. By the end of 2014, Canada is expected to welcome an additional 20,000 parents and grandparents to Canada, marking a substantial reduction in wait times for applicants.

“Our government understands the importance of spending time with family and loved ones and we committed to improving the immigration system so that families can be reunited more quickly. Canada has the most generous family reunification program in the developed world. Complementing this program, the new Super Visa remains a convenient option with a high approval rate for those who wish to visit their families in Canada for up to two years at a time,” said the minister. The Super Visa is a multiple-entry visa, valid for up to 10 years, which allows a parent or grandparent to stay in Canada for up to 24 months at a time without having to renew their status.

The PGP program will re-open to new applications in January 2015. Further details will be available closer to that date.

Form is IMM 5476, you can submit to CIC-M if you have a UCI # already, else wait for file to reach LVO ( local office )
Pros is you get all the communication and paperwork request
