Hello,

My parents stayed more than 6 months in Canada as they had super visa. Now I got police clearance certificate request, where they asked for,

Police Certificate: From each country/state where the residence period has been six months or
longer since the age of 18, provide an original police clearance certificate. You are required to provide a copy of
your original police certificate from Bangladesh and any other country where you have resided for a period of six
months or longer since the age of 18. Please follow these instructions to ensure you provide the correct police
certificate: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-
police/police-certificates/how.html

Anyone knows how to request for Police Clearance certificate for Canada (for living in Toronto more than 6 months)?
Few references I would ask you to read

Below is some guideline about PCC from Canada

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/canada.html

Worth to note that, we don’t need to get a police certificate for your time in Canada.
(i am counting on this as my inlaws have spent >6 months in Canada for past 10-12 years)

Thank you for your reply. I believe when they say, "

months or longer since the age of 18. " They actually mean any other country other than Canada?

Try clicking on the link that is embedded in the pdf letter that you sent you. In my case this is the one https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how.html

Here you will have an option to choose a country, if you choose Canada from the list... you will be directed to the below link

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/medical-police/police-certificates/how/canada.html

In one of the section you will find the below text

Police certificate and IRCC requirements
You don’t need to provide a police certificate when you apply for permanent residence in Canada. We’ll tell you if you need a Canadian criminal record check while your application is being processed.

In my case, i.e., letter they have not asked for Canada specifically, but only the home country.

It's been a while since last time I checked anything about the PR application. Today I just logged into the PR portal and see the status is back to "submitted" from "returned". Not sure when exactly that changed though.

My timeline:
PGP 2022 invitation received: Oct 14, 2022
Application submitted: Nov 4, 2022
Signature required for Form 5476 : Dec 2, 2022 (Meanwhile PR portal show status as "returned")
Re-submit of Form 5476: Dec 2, 2022
Confirm of new document on file through web form inquiry: Dec 21, 2022
PR portal show status as "Submitted" upon checking: May 2, 2023

still cannot link the case yet. what information combo do you guys use?
an update on my timeline:

Successfully linked application on IRCC secure account: May 8, 2023
Received Sponsor Approval email: Jun 14, 2023
Received Police Certificate request: Jun 27, 2023
Submitted Police Certificate through IRCC secure account: Jun 27, 2023

Visa office is CPC - Mississauga. Their BioMetrics were done in 2022 for their visitor visa and shown valid after application is linked on IRCC account so I think no new Biometrics are required.

I have my parents applied their Police Certificate around end of May before they came to Canada in June for the remaining 2023 (visitor visa). I guess it's good timing I can submit the doc right away upon request.

Does anyone know how easy to book Medical Check appointments in GTA/North York area? I am considering to book one within the next 2 months for my parents.

I submitted my parents' Police certificate on March 30, 2023. Now almost three months passed, no medical request yet.

Is AoR same as sponsorship approval (SA)? My understanding is SA is a letter sent to the sponsor suggesting they meet the requirements and AoR is an email/letter sent to the principal applicant suggesting that their application is received at certain visa office. Am I correct?

Greetings. In regards to the submission on non-existence documents, we submitted a webform request on June 21 and received ack email of submission immediately. We received, on June 26 (today), an email from their mailbox suggesting that the information/documents we submitted via webform have been added to our file. Just now, on June 26, we received a request letter in our online account suggesting us to disregard the previous letter via online, and asking us a new list documents (actually reduced list from the earlier one). In the new list, they have removed the proof of relationship (so no more India specific document) and just asked us to submit police certificate for parents (father, principal applicant , and mother, dependent spouse) and mother's details of government services. We have been given 30 days from now, so kind of gain of 4-5 days, as we wont be able to get certificates in 30 days from parents' home country (the standard time is 30 days or more).

One question though, when I sent them an explanation letter why we wont be able to submit police certificates on time, do we need to send them a proof. If yes, what could be such? Are screen shots of (a) website suggesting processing time for PCC, (b) online application submission enough ??
If you apply inside Canada for an India police certificate, followed the below steps.
I sent them an email saying that it will take 4 to 6 weeks to receive the PCC in Canada, so I need an extension. They sent an extension for 60 days and now I submitted the PCC successfully.
