I have the same issue though related to multiple entry visa. I want to bring my parents here next month but my father's visitor visa will expire in Sept 2021. I believe visitor extension is when the TRV is still valid and only the limit of six months stay is getting over. In the visitor's forum I read some people applying for extension atleast a month before the visa's expiry.

I had planned their visit thinking PGP case will be processed soon and they won't have to leave, but yesterday's Capacity Email has dampened my spirits.
The date on the visa is he date they have to ENTER by, not exit. The border agent will stamp the passport with the date they have to be out.

Hi All,

Got this message yesterday from CIC. Did everyone got it or just few of us? Looks like they'll further delay the processing. Pls advice what you guys think.

Thanks!!

Update on IRCC processing capacity for your Family Class – Parents and Grandparents application.

Dear client,

Thank you for your interest in Canada. We are looking forward to having you here.

Due to the impacts of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), we’re experiencing longer than usual processing delays. Rest assured, we are still actively processing your Family Class – Parents and Grandparents application, but it will take longer than usual to get back to you.

This also means that we are unable to provide accurate processing times on individual applications at this time. As a result, we have removed the progress bar in the online account of Family Class – Parents and Grandparents clients. You can still get the most current information about the status of your Family Class – Parents and Grandparents application by checking the ‘Details about application status’ section in your online account.
Received this too :(

They hogged the passports for 2 months?! That's crazy! Is this the New Delhi office? How long do your parents have to enter Canada?
I guess the medical extension was 6 months on Jan 2021 because their COPR is valid only till June 30 2021. Frustrations seem never ending :(

Have they asked for any financial documents like Notice of assessment after you applied for reassessment!
Didn't ask anything after medical and medical is expired as well ... NOA was only submitted with the application back in 2019. They just say that we have all documents and if required, we will contact you.

My concern is that their 10yrs visa will expire in Sept 2021. Even if the border agent gives them 6 months to stay but their TRV will expire by then. Will they have to leave before expiry in Sept or can apply for visitor extension even with expired TRV?

MY Parents COPR is expiring by May 15th . They wont be able to travel as covid situation is still not good. Can we extend COPR. Have anyone done it recently ? what will happen if it expires ?

June 30 2021 which is crazy so we are now trying to book flights and it is not that easy as it is just my mom.
what? they just gave 3 months. this is insane, with the travel restrictions (mainly hotel quarantine) most may choose to travel later, this short validity isn't helping at all.

Hi all,
I have few questions, I want to bring my parents here while we wait for their PR application to finalize. Their Super visa is expiring on Oct 2021.
1) Can they travel to Canada anytime before the expiry of the visa and stay for 2 years (or date stamped by border officer) or they can stay only until Oct 2021?
2) Once they come here, can they extend their super visa beyond Oct 2021, or Applying for a new one is the only option?
I would appreciate your responses.
Thanks
yes to both questions

they can apply for extension before expiry and can stay here under implied status till ircc provides a decision on visa extension
