Update 2018 application:
Jan 15- received pre-arrival service letter
Jan 21- received medical request (2nd request because we did medical in January 2020 already)

I am in the exact same boat. Received pre-arrival letter on Jan 13, and nothing since. Have done medicals twice - once in 2019, then 2020. It's due again this year now. Hopefully we get PPR soon.

Hello friends,
My father's medical was passed on February 26, 2020. It has been radio silence since then...
Does that mean that he will have to through the medical again?
Hi Atif. Did you get any updates yet?
It's been very quiet for us since feb2020 when medicals were recieved

Hi Everyone.

My parents got Letter to Pre invitation services.
They also got new medical request (they got first medical request Dec 2019).
Does this mean anything?

So they request new medical exam, which cost money & time, cause they're not able to do what they have to do in time? :////

At this point they can wait till the medical exam is rejected (or people die, why not), so no more problem (yes, I'm upset).

Hello everyone, does anyone know what benefits have our parents had when we sponsor them for 20 years. Also when we do our Tax return, do we include them under our return, or they have to do their own Tax return. Thank you!

They must do their own tax return.

It's not so easy to give you an answer, it depends of lot of variable, especially how much time they spent in Canada since they have 18, their native country, etc... Short story : if they come in Canada after 65, they don't really have money.
https://www.canada.ca/en/services/benefits/publicpensions/cpp/old-age-security.html

Most of the time, but it depends of tax treaties (Canada and the other country), if they have a pension from another country, this pension is taxables only in this other country, so they don't have anything to do here.

My wife just called immigration. They said that government actually prioritizes refugees, then wives and children, so it could be long and "they can't do nothing". I understand fed gov just doesn't want to provide enough resources to process cases.

We asked for all information about our file.
