Hello Everyone ,
I sponsored my mum for PR . My visa office is Accra and they are now requesting for police certificate and her International Passport at the same time. The problem is she is now in Canada and will be here for a year. The question is can she submit the requested docs and passport to cic ottawa? Please I need help because cost of going home is very expensive.

I did the same and I was told to submit police certificate online and wait for Ottawa passport request(which came after one month)

Hi everyone,

My parents received PPR on Sep 25. They are instructed to send their passports to Ottawa. Given that they are currently residing outside of Canada, they can not send their passport to Ottawa at this point in time. I have contacted the cic through web form. However, I have not yet heard back from them. Does anyone have a similar experience? Do you know what will happen now?

We have same situation, I also submitted webform 4 times and before that PPR when my father went back home I already submitted a webform updating the current residential address. Now we pass the 30 days deadline still no enlightenment. Did IRCC reply to you already?

What is the email address? Is it different from webform?

The email address relevant for your VO will be given in the PPR notice

Seeing Decision made for PA in ECAS, received Pre-Arrival letter on the same day in GcKey. But, no further update in GcKey or no email.
Can you please advise, how long it will take to get the PPR.
Local VISA office is Singapore

Same here, waiting for email or GCKey update since last Thursday. Guess it might take few more days to get an email or something.

Every case is different. As far as i know, you/Your mum should be able to submitt docs and passports in Canada itself. You don't need to go back etc.

I sent web based inquiry to London VO and got below reply this morning
Thank you for your e-mail. In response to your enquiry, your application is in process and currently undergoing background checks.

Background checks are carried out by partner agencies in Canada and as such we do not have a definitive completion date. We are only notified once the checks have been finalised.

IRCC’s goal is to process applications under Family Class (Overseas - spouses, partners and dependent children) within 12 months, however some cases may take longer for a variety of reasons e.g. background checks/interview requirement/DNA testing etc.

IRCC aims to meet the service standard 80 percent of the time however in some cases this service standard is exceeded. Please be assured that it is our aim to process your application as expeditiously as possible, and we will be in touch as soon as there is an update on your file.

Other question, they requested for my Father in law new passport about 2 months ago which I submitted but CIC status still showing "Your Action is required"

@YULIA-2016 I got the Medical request for both Parents from NDVO. However, in my mother's medical request form the email mentioned is wrong. I don't know why. How can i rectify it?

I have sponsored my parents under PGP 2019. Their file is at advanced stage.
Like many parents, my parents also have assets including real estate, mutual funds, govt bonds, gold and bank accounts in home country (India).
They are already here in Canada on Visitor Visas and most likely will complete their landing formalities by flag poling or at Etobicoke.
It will take them approx 3 years to liquidate all their assets in home country and bring/transfer funds to Canada.
What kind of declaration is to be made at the border at the time of flag poling/Etobicoke to avoid future tax implications?
Will appreciate if someone can share experience/insight.

Yeah security and background for Us takes longer than others.

But what took them 9 months to even request medical and PCC.

Other offices now a days asking PCC medical and stuff within SA letter or within couple of months..
