Well its a good thing that IRCC will be increasing the intake each year but the downfall of it would it be like the previous years where the program is overfilled and IRCC had to close the stream down in order to finish processing the applications received already?it turns back to be a race........
It says that there will be an Interest to Sponsor form available online and they will invite people to apply in the order in which they applied to sponsor.Well its a good thing that IRCC will be increasing the intake each year but the downfall of it would it be like the previous years where the program is overfilled and IRCC had to close the stream down in order to finish processing the applications received already?
If the capped is filled, I think IRCC will stop accepting new applications until they finished processing the current ones which would be unfair to those who qualifies after 2020. I do hope they will continue to increase the intake for future applicants each year though. It says that there will be an Interest to Sponsor form available online and they will invite people to apply in the order in which they applied to sponsor.
Hopefully they will ask more questions to ensure that they get a higher percentage of eligible applications, similar to how they do the Express Entry invitations.
We will just have to wait and see, but it will be interesting to see the details of the planned improvements to the system in the fall.
Looks like Ottawa LVO is processing applications pretty fast in comparing to other VO.Hi All,

Agreed. I think its too early to scrape the Lottery Program after a year only and now it seems the Liberal Party is using the new changes to the Parent's Sponsorship to get more votes.Clearly the Liberals are trying to secure the immigrant vote. No new funding for hospitals, home care of longterm care which both are past capacity. Seems irresponsible and I voted liberal. Hospitals currently have tons of patients stuck there for months waiting for a longterm care bed and we have just started with the baby boomers needing more services.
Without an election they wouldn't have unexpectedly raised this year's cap and then next year's cap. They also have reduced the transfer cost to the provinces for health care. To be fair the conservatives started that. Seems like he provinces keep getting screwed whether it is the irregular border crossers, the new parental sponsorships, etc. These do have real consequences on budgets especially for things like education, health care, welfare. The hospital in Brampton is chronically over capacity and so are the schools for example. Most of the new immigrants want to come to the GTA without the infrastructure to handle it. Think it is cray that Toronto taxpayers have been paying to house asylum seekers in hotels for often 6+ months per family/individual. Nobody seems to think about moving people to places where there is a lower cost of living and jobs available until they can be self-sufficient and can live where they want. So much lack of common sense or will to take action. Grrr.Agreed. True alot of immigrants and refugees seem to think bigger cities are better but smaller cities is good too. I live in Regina SK so the living costs such as rental is much lower and affordable and at the end of the month, you can still have some money left over from your wages. At least from people I know, there are plenty jobs available in Regina even though the city is small, travel is much easier and doesn't take too long to get to places.Without an election they wouldn't have unexpectedly raised this year's cap and then next year's cap. You can apply for both. These are not exclusive.Hello, my husband and I were in the process of applying for a supervisa for my mother inlaw. Two weeks ago we got an email saying he's been selected to apply for PR for her. When I checked the processing time for PR is says 20-24months, Supervisa is 70days. I'm stumPed on what we should do... she's only getting older and PR would be great to allow her access to healthcare but supervisa would allow her to travel sooner than the 20months minimum for PR to be approved. What route should we take? We already got the insurance for the supervisa so we'll have to cancel that if wee go ahead with PR, they suggesting we go ahead with supervisa cause it can take 5-7yrs for PR approval, is this true?
Thanks for the reply... What does PGP mean? You can apply for both. These are not exclusive.
But I think PGP applications have been moving faster than before. Some people do get approval in a year or 2.
