Hello,

I got an AOR Today to apply for my parents and Grandparents sponsorship.

I have couple of questions.

  • The confirmation number used to track the form, does this implies if i filled only my dad name in online form , i can only apply for my dad now ?
    • But actually the AOR doesn't mention any name specific and it only tells you to upload documents for your parents. So i am assuming that i can submit the application package for my mom and dad both in this AOR , right ?
  • Second question is , For 2015 When i started my job, my LICO is 3,000 less than requirement of 3 people but satisfying for 2. Is it going to be the reason to reject one of my applicant in parents. ? As i can still sponsor 2 People (Me and my dad ) right ? My other years are way higher more than 100k.
  • Third is, I drove uber during 2015 and never reported that income because i was unaware of the process and they were not issuing T4 at that time. If i can re-asses my 2015 NOA it will satisfy the LICO requirement of 2015. Did anyone did that before ? Is it considered.
I just dont want to lose the chance of sponsoring both with 3000 less in one year LICO requirement.

Also, i want to know the online submission process if any one has link to it . Is it same as Express Entry Document Upload like we use to do with GC Key.
First thing first. You didn’t get AOR. You got an invitation to apply for 2018 PGP.

Secondly, you should have put your name in the Notice of Interest form - not your mom and/or dad. You - as a potential sponsor - is notifying the government of Canada that you are interested in sponsoring your parents. Your parents can’t sponsor themselves. So, if you put your dad’s name in the Notice of Interest form, you need to explain to IRCC of that mistake when you file PGP application.

You can sponsor both your mom and dad as long as you meet LICO. How many people you can sponsor is not determined by whose name you put in the Notice of Interest form. It is determined by LICO.

As for unreported income in 2015, you can request to have your income tax reassessed. You will need solid proof for that though. But, I doubt that you’ll get the NOA in time to file for PGP.

PGP sponsorship can’t be filed online. It’s paper based and must be sent via mail. You can check the status online after you received AOR which you clearly do not have at this time.

I received an email today, I guess I was selected in the second batch :)
I have few questions; getting headache just looking at the forms guess I'm not used to filling out CIC forms anymore.

My parent is back in my home country, so the application has to be mailed to Canada from my home country?
As a sponsor, Do i have to mailed my signed part to them in my home country.
so scanned copy is allowed?

Is it faster to give CIC my SIN or submit the tax information myself.

Thanks
Congrats!

But, read the invitation letter carefully at least once. It tells you everything you need to know. It has a link to application package, where to mail the application package to etc.

Your parents will need to send you the “signed” application forms. You will add your part of the forms to the package and mail it to the office in Ottawa. Again, all of that information is already included in the invitation letter.

Hi friends,
I received the invitation from CIC for sponsoring my parents this morning. Here is my situation:
I meet income requirements for 2016 and 2017. My salary is 83,000. But as I started my work in mid 2015, my 2015 income doesn’t meet the requirement, although my common-law partner would co-sign this for me. We have been together for a year. Could he help me to meet the income requirement for 2015? Cause we were not together in 2015? Can anyone help me in this? I really appreciate it

For people who have to submit the IMM 5669 form with PCC and medical exam. When you fill out this form do you indicate parents personal history from their 18 years old until today or do you just focus in the last 10 years of parents history? In the email, LVO is asking to fill out the form fro age 18 and on the form, it says Provide the details of your personal history since the age of 18, or the past 10 years, whichever is most recent..Any thoughts?

Well, provide “whichever is most recent” history of your parents. It is clearly written.

Are your parents 28 years old? Then, you’d need to provide their histories since the age of 18. Otherwise, the last 10 years is obviously “the most recent” history.

Hmmm....

For income calculation CIC counts present day family. if you and your co-sponsor meet the requirement for present family size, you are good. Even if you married yesterday. But you need to count your co-sponsor in family size as well for past years.Same is the case with baby, dosen't matter when born, baby has to be counted for all the past 3 years for family size calculations.

Got the invitation today to submit the application for my parents. They do not have their marriage certificate though. Has anyone here submitted an affidavit in lieu of the marriage certificate? I have seen some older threads that appear to suggest it works but just wondering if anyone has done this recently.
Yes, i have submitted and affidavit in lieu of marriage is accepted as a valid document. Good luck!

Finally got picked....now preparing forms. A question regarding the correct sequence between vaidating a form and put a date on the form.
For 1344, should I validate the form first leaving both signature and date fields blank, print out the form, then have both spronsor and PR sign and date the form by hand? Or, should I pick a date using the form's date selector, then validate the form, print it out, and just sign the form?

For Schedule A, I guess I have to enter the signature and date on the computer first, then validate it.

For the General Application form, the same process as for 1344?

I am currently in my home country with my parents , but will leave for Canada in 2 days. Anything I'd better get done before I go? Thanks

Thank you very much for your help...
Only one more little clarification I need... I was married in 2015 and I divorced end of 2016 and I got together with my new bf more than year ago... I have a boy and I would be sponsoring my both parents... I’m confused how to calculate my family size... I cannot include my both ex and current spouses for 2015 family size right? Please help me understand it.

Thank you! Is there a specific format that you followed for the affidavit? My parents are trying to get a marriage certificate issued soon but if not, wanted to go the affidavit route.

Hi All,

Received the invitation to apply yesterday.
My question is for all the supporting documents, do all the photocopies need to be notarized even if the originals are in english?

Secondly, what is the average processing time ?

Thirdly, does it help if we submit fingerprints along with the application?

Fourth,
Do I write "not applicable" on the forms which do not apply such as common law or additional dependents? Or not include them at all?

Quick reply is much appreciated.

Thanks.

to avoid delay fill out all forms related to baby again and you can load it on my CIC account or thru IRCC web form
Can you please share the link for IRCC web form? Is it possible to use this form to update any changes including address change without a file number or is it better to wait until file number issued ?
Thank you for your help.
