No good news and no bad news :)

I don"t understand why NDVO is so fast giving PPR to 2016 applicants. In some post there were applicants last feb who already got their PPR.
keep in mind PPR doesn't always suggest DM is near. there are some VOs that do PPR closer to the beginning of the process. I'd recommend watching how long it takes for these applicants to go from PPR to DM (and checking the NDVO spreadsheet - if available) before assuming the entire process is substantially shorter for 2016 applicants. Then again, it could be a sign of things moving along and family sponsorship becoming a priority. only time will tell...

I don't think so, we are only required to obtain a police clearance with finger print in the country where we lived for 6 months and more, as per the law stipulated on our visa (visitor's visa) we are not allowed to stay more than six months in Canada. In my case, I go out of Canada every 5 mos. I did not submit my police clearance and finger print from BC, but I have it in case they will ask for it.
My common law partner stayed in Canada for more than 12 continuous months (we asked for extension) and he was not required to provide a police certificate from Canada. But we did apply outland while living in Canada. Maybe that was the reason why we were not asked for Police certificate from Canada.

I think PPR stands for Passport Request (for members who need a visa on their passport), and it should happen after DM. So once you have PPR, you already have DM on e-cas.

yes, PPR stands for passport request

No that's not necessarily true. For many visa offices PPR comes BEFORE DM. The process is visa office specific, so not all finalize visas the same way.

I apologize. I thought they ask for passport only when they have a decision made on your application. As you said, it must be visa office specific then.

Any updates on yours dear applicants ?

And does any one know the criteria for sending the application to Canada visa office or applicant's home country visa office ? I have been in Canada for 6 years.

The application is routed by CIC, to the appropriate visa office, at their discretion.

Outland is your best bet. Processing time for the Philippines is 13 months outland or 26 months inland. Yes, you will need to apply to extend your visitor visa. Make sure you apply before your current visa expires, or you'll be out of status. But as long as your extension application is sent in before your current visa expires, you'll be on implied status until your new visa comes.

Thanks..

Yes I know it's done by CIC but what's the criteria..I was wondering what they look for to decide if it's Canada visa office or outside canada.

no one knows exactly, except for those who have legal/temp status in canada for a specific amount of time (possible 12+ months?) are more likely to be sent to canada for processing. this is assumed it makes interviewing (in case it is required) and visa issuance easier. you won't know for sure until cic tells you.

Hi!

I was just a little bit confused on your post. I am currently here in Canada for almost 4 months now. My spouse and I is planning to extend my stay here until February 2017. Does it mean, I need to submit a Canada Police Clearance with our application?

We have same situation. I am here in Canada (SK) as a visitor visa. Got married and now collating all documents for sponsorship (outland). Next month, I will be extending my visa.
