Hi guys

Few month ago I sent an email to Singapore and they reply that me and my husbands application is pending final review, so hopefully his interview gets waived. It's been 18 month and we still haven't got a letter for his interview yet.

Hello Mikey,
This is my timeline ... we got lucky ...

CIC Mississauga Approve on March 12, 2013
In Process: January 9, 2014
Re-Med: January 20, 2014
Send Passport: March 21, 2014
Decision Made: April 25, 2014

Yikes, a re-med can add an extra month to the processing time. I think before my wife's med expires, we will get a new one done anyway before they request it.

I don't understand why it takes 10 months to go from Sponsor Approval to In Process.

Mines been 19 month and still hasn't change to in progress.

Why is yours taking so long? Did you have an interview? Were you missing documents or something?

We have no missing doc and no interview letter. I did email Singapore and they said it's pending final review. My lawyer said my husband has a high chance in getting the interview waived but I'm still worried.

Did you order GCMS notes? It's very unusual for you to wait this long, because most people from Vietnam who have no interview usually dont wait longer than 12-13 months.

That's not all true. I have friends that have their interview waived and still took a little over 20 month. If you don't mind me asking where is your wife from in vietnam?

i know a lot of applicants including my application..with no red flags no nuthing ..took 17 months to go in process....it completely depends on the visa officer...

But after it went in process..everything took less than 2 months frm re med request to pp in hand with visa

Maybe the strength of your applications is not as good as others, hence the longer processing time. What I mean by that is, for example, I know at least 4 people on this forum, who had Vietnamese spouses, and they got PR in just 6-7 months, this was in 2013. I checked their relationship history, and it was probably the strongest you could have. The sponsor lived with spouse for a couple years in Vietnam. The couple travelled to many countries together, including those difficult for Vietnamese to enter, such as Japan, Korea, and Europe. One of them even had a child together.

So I think because their application is so strong, the VO didn't have to think much to conclude it was a legitimate relationship, and so granted them PR. Maybe with you guys, your application was good, but not overwhelmingly good, so they needed a bit of time to analyze your application.

I think it depends on the vo to. I've been married to my husband for 2 years. We met each other a year an a half before we got married. Since we met I have been back to vietnam 8 times and each time it's more then 3 months. There was a year I went two times and stayed 8 months.
