Wow they approved you in just a month?
According to CIC website, stage 1 average approval time is 21 days now. But the Singapore timeline has been changed to 26 weeks :(

Well, I saw a lot of recent posts by members using the Singapore VO, and they seemed to have had their spouses get visas from 6-8 months, it seems the 26 months is only if your application has lots of missing docs, or needs an interview.

I am hoping for similar timeline as well. The waiting is giving me an ulcer :)

Singapore has to take care of more cases, because they are in charge of case files in most of asia.

considering china has more then 6 billion people and their office does a much faster and better job i'd say no, singapore is the shits.

@ Dragoon

Actually China has 1.3 billion people the world population is about 7 billion but I get your point. My dates are exactly as yours. My wife has not received 2nd letter with time and date for interview either. Singapore average time went up by 2 months on Jan 16 to 26 months. I want to complain but I can't until I surpass the average time. At this rate singapore increases the average time faster than I can catch up. In my mind this process will take minimum 30 to 36 months. Completely inhumane. They play with peoples lives and patience.

Nice to see this Tread for our Vietnamese spouses......I could not agree with you folks more....the SVO is crazy slow. I had not even bothered to check ECAS untill I stumbled into it and notice that we went In Process.....now I can't help but check it everyday.....argggggg

Good luck to all of you! I hope we can all do better than the posted time lines from this VO

It's so slow because so many people from Southeast Asia want to immigrate here. But I'm holding out hope because I saw a lot of recent Vietnamese sponsorships on this forum go through within 6-10 months.

My wife send in her passport, passport photos, criminal check and re-medical on dec 7th. Since then we have not heard anything from SVO, the "we received you medical" disappear for a few days and came back. I contacted my MP but they said they couldn't do anything since we are still within the 24 months time fame (BS answer). All these waiting is driving me crazy. Is it that hard to put a visa into passport and mail it back, why hold it back.

Yes, looks like you are good if you see that med's were received. They do not do anything (security, background, med etc) at all if an interview is required.

Also, yes I was mistaken about 6 billion in China wasn't thinking when I wrote that haha.

The average time when I contacted my MP was 24 months. So, in May I will be contacting my MP again and see if they can speed up this interview date. This is getting ridiculous.

@ Dragoon
The way I see it the first interview letter stated that it can take up to 24 months. The operative words here are "up to" 24 months would make it this November in my case. Within the next 8 months I am quite certain that our wives will go to interview. In the singapore time line thread I noticed that some vietnamese wives had an interview in July. This was in 2010. I hope they keep to their routine. In May it will be 26 months that I have received approval to sponsor and 24 months that Singapore received our file. I will also contact my MP. What is best? to write or to call? I have been supporting my wife for 3 years now. The minister of immigration has the nerve to state that Canadian citizenship is not for sale. I am just wondering what was the investor class all about any way. This was set up by Mr. Mulroney. I am also wondering who are the victims now with this new zeal to reduce marriage fraud.

Finally my wife's status changed to DECISION MADE and her home address changed to my Canadian address. The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. ;D
