Thanks Ahmad, I have one more question which somebody may have the answer to. I have a feeling that the Photos that we submitted will be rejected when the application is put in for our PR cards, so we have had additional photos taken by a professional photo studio who provide photo service for Canada visas, would it be possible to hand these new photos to the immigration officer at the time of landing?
Any info from anyone would be very helpful.

Hey Shiraz,
You can take those and hand it to immigration officer at the port of landing. I would recommend to ask them as we got our photos taken from professional photographer and as per standards and sheet which was provided to us. Didnt get PR card for 3 months and called them only to be told that there was an issue with photos and will be getting the letter to have them retaken. I landed in May and it's sept, still waiting for magic letter.

Hi Guys, finally landed on Saturday 24th Sept. I cannot believe how our landing was so easy and quick.
We landed at Edmonton International at around 6.25pm and was in passport control queue by 6.35.
We were then directed from passport control to the immigration area which was empty and had to wait a few mins before the IO arrived.
When the IO arrived my wife asked if she could collect our luggage while we went through the paperwork and she told her she could. The time was 6.55 and paperwork was completed and signed by 7.10, she directed us to the cash desk to submit our list of goods.
The IO there was very impressed with the list we had ready for him which He signed and stamped. We were never asked for POF. Once done IO said the famous words "Welcome To Canada" my son, wife and I smiled and thanked him, we were out by 7.20pm.

I have also applied in Sept 2007 through an agent in Dubai, they have submitted my docs to London office and i have received my file number in Sept 2007 and Status shows in progress.
Well, i have completed my medicals in NOv 2010, but not received my passport call yet. when i sent them an email they have replied....."As stated by our Ottawa Office, your application has been selected for a quality assurance review to verify the reliability of all information and documents submitted.
This interview is required as part of the application process, and we will not be able to proceed to the visa issuance stage until this interview has been completed. Should no issues be identified as a result of this quality assurance exercise we will endeavour to issue your visas as soon as possible following the interview."
From this i gather that Ottawa office is processing mine..... but now i have been scheduled for an interview on the 26th of October, 2011 in AUH that too after my medicals. I have not received my CAIPS notes hence its the general documentation check list that i need to carry with me for the interview... i mean all my original docs. I dont know if they have put any other notes on my file, awaiting for the notes ... and i dont know whether i will receive them b4 my interview.

Secondly, do not worry about your interview as they will varify some info on which they have reservations.
