Got a pleasant surprise from ecas. Was already preparing ourselves for a long wait from In Process to LOT. Now, its on Ottawa's hands.

We received your application for Canadian citizenship (grant of citizenship) on March 9, 2015.
We sent you correspondence acknowledging receipt of your application(s) on March 25, 2015.
We started processing your application on June 23, 2015.
Your file was transferred to the office responsible for your area on June 25, 2015. The office responsible for your area will contact you.

Praise God!

Has anyone else, beside me and hgn above, got this "the office responsible for your area" instead of "Ottawa" in this group ?
If Yes, how long did it take before "the office responsible for your area" became "Ottawa" in your eCas ?

it's probably a new trend. I have the eCAS update saying that the file's transferred to the local office on June 23
(probably Ottawa).

No test invites recently?

not yet... has your transferred to local office line came back?

No, still gone.

here is my timeline

App received: Mar 31, 2015
Ack received: April 14, 2015
In Process: June 29, 2015

Any idea how long does it take to get the file transfer to local office? Also, at what point one should start studying the guide for test?

By the way, Ottawa is slowest of all :(

For me, it took 1 month and 2 days as you can see in my signature.
In my opinion, one should start studying after the file is transferred to local office. That is what I am doing. I just started studying. But given that some people see their file transferred line disappear nowadays, I think 2 months after you see the 3rd line (In Process) you should start studying if you don't see the 4th line at that point. Just to be on the safe side.

Hi Wadood, see Tamara's, Messi's, ReadyToFly, and mine signatures above for timelines. That should give you an idea of processing time for Ottawa.

Regarding studying for exam - my personal opinion - is you should start as soon as possible. It's easier to quickly brush on the material before exam when the time comes than studying the last minute. But I've read some people studied few days before exam and passed. I personally wouldn't risk it though. But that's just me.

Well folks, it's been a great ride so far, and the journey has only begun. Finally a Canadian citizen and can't thank this forum enough.

I'll pop by every now and then, but not as often. Good luck to everyone :)

OttawaResident, Venecolano,

You seem to have been done on Oath in Ottawa. Can you recall which of these judges in the link below was there at your event ? I guess this was also to understand who came down from where since Ottawa does not have its own judge...
