Hello guys,

Just wanted to give everyone an update since this thread has been so active!

I submitted my application package (somewhere in the middle of August). It was returned to me because I only had 1 (one) picture instead of two! This was my fault entirely, I missed the most basic step of them all! Everything else they seemed to have liked.

Packet was returned to me around Sept 20th and I sent it back out on Sept 28th. Hoping to hear back in a few weeks since it seems the second time around is quicker.

While I am here I have a question about that. The returned packet came with a scary letter saying that the application had to be resubmitted not just the additional documents sent in. This makes sense, but was it ok for me to resend my entire original application package with the two pictures attached instead of just the one? Or was I supposed to actually redo the entire application package?
I assume as long as it's a complete package I am ok...

As far as I get, no one we know from this forum has got nominated from the French Stream so far, right? I mean since the beginning of the program.

1. Ontario can in total nominate 5500 PNP but for all their programs (including those with LMIA, Canadian experience, international graduates, business class)
2. Their target on French speakers is 5% (around 275 places) they did not state more details if that is purely for french stream or for anybody else who has French and is under different program
3. Quota of applicants for human capital is reached for 2016 (the one with 400+), but the quota for French stream is not reached yet
4. They did not mentioned when will the get the batch for 2017
5. There is no priority service on treatment of any application. They work according to the AOR number.
6. They did not state any timing for application to be approved (only some very vague info about 3 to 6 months)

Thank you for the summary. If they haven't reached their quota for frwnch stream I wonder why they haven't expedited this stream and gave nominations already. I'm thinking anyone that has AOR should be nominated before end of year. Good luck all

I Support your way of thinking Aal_. Maybe they are working on that.

Because that is their major goal - to get 5% of French speakers in the province. Part of this province is also Ottawa, which means government jobs which means French speakers are needed. But not only there. wherever you meet the client, French is a big plus. This province is wanted, so why not choose the bilinguals, if they will get them.

As for nomination. Just because they did state, that they have no preferences who will get it sooner, it does not mean that they dont have some kind of hidden preferences. And plus somebody might have all documents done easily, while somebody else needs further investigation. So again that one some can get nominated sooner than others.

We do not have to look at it as preferential treatment. Being a separate stream from the HCPS, all they have to do is process the two steam in parallel since their quota are separate.
That way, the people in each stream would be processes according to the AoR dates. It could have been that , if that was the case, some applicants from the FWSP would have been processed before the HCPS (because of the small number of them in this stream). But as we can see, it is not the case. We are treated the same. Maybe the completeness and accuracy of our individual applications, without forgetting the difference in efficiency and expediency of the officers treating our cases, would be the determining factors on who gets the nomination first post AoR.
