Just wondering what happens if one is unable to land before medical certificate expires. Will this apply http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/medic/assess/cert.asp ? Or will it require another medical test?

Cheers

As I know, you will get visa till your medical exam expiry, and document says that the visa is not extendable. And you must reapply by submiting new application and paying new processing fees.

I found the information: https://www.ontario.ca/driving-and-roads/exchange-out-province-drivers-licence
And there they say that Ontario has exchange agreement with Great Britain. However they don't explain the process of exchange.

@ Gillbs, yes the flowchart in that link will apply
If you have not got the COPR and your medical expires, invariably a re-medical would be required unless CIC has exempted or extended your medical.
If you have got the COPR and your medical expires before you land, which also means COPR expired, then you CANNOT enter. Would have to start all over again as new applicant.

I found the information: http://www.drivetest.ca/EN/licencing/Pages/Exchanging-a-Reciprocal-Licence.aspx
However under the table that listed all countries that are eligible for exchange s note:
Applicants from territories or protectorates of the Jurisdictions listed on the table above are not eligible for an exchange and must follow the requirements indicated on the Out of Country Drivers page.

So I am confused.

Another quick one: Will the VO ask for passport (PPR2 I guess) even if the applicant is from a visa exempt country?
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2011/ob348a.asp has some information but some first/second hand experience will help :)

Thanks

I got full information about license exchange (from email):

Based on the information you have provided, you may visit a DriveTest
center with acceptable identification and your current valid full class
licence. With driving experience of more than two years in the last three
years: You will be eligible to do an exchange of your licence equivalent to
Ontario’s class ‘G’ full licence. You will be required to surrender your
licence. You will only be required to complete a vision test and pay the
applicable fees.

Next question that I sent:
After reading your reply, I still have a questions:
- What documents should I supply to prove my driving experience of more than two years in the last three years ?

His answer:
Based on the information you have provided, your current licence should
have the issue date, if the issue date shows less then 2 years in the event
the licence was recently renewed, DriveTest will be able to look up your
driving experience. You are not required to present documentations showing
your driver experience.

I hope the information will help you.

Yesterday I received my GCMS notes printed in the last week of Feb 2015. Just for the info of those who wants to know the time taken by CIC Ottawa to complete QA is as follows:
-----------------------------------------------------------
Created Date: dd August 2014 (Date when LVO asked to submit additional docs to Ottawa CPC- first week of August)
Type: Verification-QA
Status: Completed
Updated Date: dd November 2014 (3rd week of Nov 2014)

Also somewhere in notes it is written that "OOPNP review completed with no concerns identified" (Updated Date: dd November 2014)

Dear Islamabad,

Did they write any date related to your PPR which already happened in March 11, lets say for example (Due date for passport request March 2015)??
Or they do not include such notes in GCMS??
