"""Since then the value of the US $$ has gone down in comparison to the Canadian dollar, which means we have less Canadian $$ in terms of current rates."""

Oh mannnnnn!!! what is that statement, a very childish one? how much less will you have because of the exchange rate. 1 CAD is not 2 USD. So taking the excuse of exchange rate is BS. Anyone who has written how much they have in the form, be better ready to show that off. If you have spent some amount from that, oh yeah it can be seen in the statements. Remember, its an official form and every one has to sign it.

Did CIC ask us to send bank statements etc? I would like to know how many AINP applicants actually sent bank statements showing their exact funds.

Back in Nov 09, AINP asked me many documents like my employment doc, w2, pay subs, H1 document and bank statement. I sent all those requested documents and within a week I got AINP Nominations. I am not sure if bank statement is required by CIC, but since there was a seperate form about the fund I sent my bank document along with FBI doc and Birth Certificate with my application to CIC.
It is entirely up to you but if I were you I'll sent the bank doc as well. And Josephdadreamer, I'm Calm. There is nothing to loose calm just posting our experience and what we know. Thats all and I think that is what this fourm is for right?

First off, you are welcome to agree or disagree with my point of view. But, if you want to call my statements childish or anything else, you can go take your conversation somewhere else.

In March 2009 ( when I sent in my application to AINP),
1 US $$ = 1.26 Canadian $$, which meant if I had $50,000 USD, it would translate to $63,000 CAD

Today
1 US $$ = 0.9906 CAD, which means if I have $50,000 USD , it would translate to $49,530 CAD
So, does this seem like a small amount to you?

You sent more documentation then what was asked, but it worked in your favour, and that is good. And yes, this is an open forum, meant to initiate dialogue - there is no right or wrong.

Did nobody get any File Transfer this week?

Where are all my May 2010 CIC application buddies? How you guys doing?

I don't know if I sent more documents than I was asked. I was just following the CIC guidline below. Check
Funds required to settle in Canada section on page 6.
"The government of Canada provides no financial support to new immigrants. You must prove that you have enough money unencumbered by debts or obligations to support yourself and your family members after you arrive in Canada."

I thought bank statement will be good enought to prove cic that I have enough fund to settle. By the way this guide is for provincial nominee.

Either ways no harm done, although both documents seem a little contradictory. For future applicants, it will be something to take into consideration.
