Folks,

This is frustrating... Could somebody please post the contact info of the ottawa office the one that handles our medicals. ive read it here before but i couldn't find it. Thanks...

You can call these number to check your status at Ottawa

613-941-6641 or 613-941-2170

Try to call early in the morning at 9 am and request them they will give the info.

If it goes to voicemail you can fax your information (File#, Medicals done date, Name, Date of Birth, Email id) to Ottawa office at 613-941-5043 and they will reply your medical status in email.

Thanks for the info.

Hi dear_pnp,

No dude, haven't heard anything from NYC yet, still waiting for PPR. I emailed them on Jan22,2011 but I havent got any reply. Since they requested me to pay RPRF in Nov 2010, I dont think there is any background check pending.

Historically, NYC was pretty quick but of late its very slow. I assume NY Consulate might be understaffed or over burdend with work. Given the snail movement of files at various Visa offices/consulates, I think its best to wait with a ray of HOPE.

Hey Avalap,

Whats up? Did you hear anything from NY office, did you get PPR? Man why its taking so long to get a PPR from NY office. You know wayne81, he got his transferred to Seattle on Jan 5 and received PPR on Jan 24.

Man did you try emailing them, what do you think the delay is? Is it not that the background check is complete when the file is transferred.

Hey bro,

Snail movement in other offices, no bro, other offices are pretty quick. I mean only 3 to 4 weeks. Can you tell me again when was your file transferred and on at what date were you asked to send the RPRF?

I hope we get PPR very soon man so that we can go along with our normal lifes.

The wait time is getting on nerves.

Dear

Just saw a couple of other cases on Trackitt, and CIC asked for proof of funds before they issued ppr.
This seems to be becoming the norm. So, better be prepared.

Kindly share any thing you hear from Detroit office. Any e-mail asking for the same documents that i got or anything you hear from them. I will update also as soon as I hear back from them.
Thanks

Hi all,

Can all members make their timelines visible? that should answer a lot of questions for others on this thread and for other applicants from different visa offices. Just a thought.

My file got transferred to Detroit on Jan 5th and on Jan 14 I got Passport and fee request. For people whose file got transferred to Detroit, give some time ( a week more). Also, I read some got request of proof of fund. I didn't got such request but I did sent my bank info along with my application back in April 10. Since the Visa is valid from one year the time you did medical, I think those who completed their med around Jul -Aug should except passport request soon.

Dear_Pnp,

My file was transferred on Oct 26, 2010 and I received RPRF request on Nov 22. I sent the fees by fedex on the same day and it reached NYC on Nov 23, 2010.

I sent email enquiry on Jan 10, 2011 and I was told that the fille is in final stages of review and that they received the RPRF.

However, i know two people whose files were transferred on Oct 21 and Oct 29 to NYC and both of them got their PPR and visa's issued.

One of my observation is that there is lot of consistency among the visa offices in maintaining inconsistency. Some visa offices (Say Detroit) are asking for proof of funds, employer letters..etc.
Some visa offices (say LA) allow in-person submission of passports. Some visa offices (say Buffalo) sends a standard email reply...etc

I am totally clueless why my file is still pending. As of now, peace and patience are my oars and i hope SOME DAY they will row me to the other side of the border.

On a lighter note, I never thought my passport photo on the CIC application looked so SCARY!!! :o :o :o
