I love them. I already told Mr P that our kids are DEFINITELY going to French Immersion. He agreed :D (It'd be nice if they could get a nice cushy job with a pension so they can help us when we're old and frail :P)

I think any language is good to have. By the time your kids are adults the world will be far more globalized as it is now.

That's my hope, but I'm not totally convinced on that. When looking at Canada and the USA and their economy and debts... It scares me to be honest. That's why I plan on having my kids know three languages, and praying it helps them when they are adults.

Thats smart but I wouldn't worry so much about Canada. A wealth of resources. More fresh water than Saudi Arabia has oil and the second largest deposit of that I believe. A population that produces far more than it uses. Good secular social democracy.

Perhaps so. But with all the crap Harper is doing to our country, I worry about where he's taking it :( (Can you tell I'm not a conservative supporter? haha)

Doubtful the Conservatives will last another election. He knows this. Thats why all the omnibus bills. None of those things would pass legislature any other way. The guy is a dictator in the making.

Agree a million percent!! I'm not a fan of Liberals (IE Dalton/Wynne) nor the Conservatives. NDP had a great leader (Jack Layton) but now they have crap for a leader. Green Party will not get anywhere, so I think I'll vote for myself next election! :P

That's my favorite part about being in Canada. I'm totally naive to the politics. I plan to stay that way. I'm already completely bitter over American politics. I usually laugh at both party's nominations for president/senator/representative, etc.

My divorce lawyer was my locak state senator. Needless to say, I would never vote for him.

The Conservatives under Harper are really just soft Republicans. If the world economy not been totalled he would have deregulated markets just as much as the US had done...if not more.
The Liberals are lost. They have flooded their party with a lot of "celebrity/intellectual" names who know nothing about politics and have no plan other than to tell everyone just what they want to hear.
The NDP is really the only sane choice in these times. Its the only party that can keep the plurocratic creep from destroying the middleclass we have left. I knew Layton and Chow when they were Toronto councillors. They lived in Toronto housing until they got caught. As much as Jack has done to raise the profile of the federal NDP he is not without his crooked times.
In the end the conservatives steal your rights, the Liberals steal your money. I'll be voting NDP just to see what they will steal.

Spanish Computer
A SPANISH Teacher was explaining to her class that in Spanish, unlike English, nouns are designated as either masculine or feminine.'House' for instance, is feminine: 'la casa.''Pencil,' however, is masculine: 'el lapiz.'A student asked, 'What gender is 'computer'?'

Instead of giving the answer, the teacher split the class into two groups,male and female, and asked them to decide for themselves whether computer'should be a masculine or a feminine noun.

Each group was asked to give four reasons for its recommendation.

The men's group decided that 'computer' should definitely be of the feminine gender ('la computadora'), because:

1. No one but their creator understands their internal logic;

2. The native language they use to communicate with other computers is incomprehensible to everyone else;

3. Even the smallest mistakes are stored in long term memory for possible later retrieval; and

4. As soon as you make a commitment to one, you find yourself spending half your paycheck on accessories for it.

(THIS GETS BETTER!)

The women's group, however, concluded that computers should be Masculine('el computador'), because:

1. In order to do anything with them, you have to turn them on;

2. They have a lot of data but still can't think for themselves;

3. They are supposed to help you solve problems, but half the time they ARE the problem; and

4. As soon as you commit to one, you realize that if you had waited a little longer, you could have gotten a better model.

The women won. Lol

Hahahaha! Good one!

This is all very interesting.. I don't know a much about Canadian politics but hope to learn a fair bit over time

Another week of waiting. How's everyone's weekend?

Sundays are the best. No postman comes round on Sunday, even in India!

Mondays are the best out of the week, full of hope. Which rapidly diminishes as the week progresses, Friday nights = sappy movies and boxes of Kleenex. Saturdays somehow make me resolve not to give in, and the cycle begins again.

We could all collectively write a heart wrenching book/movie script.

The weekends are always good because there is no hope of anything :P
And then Monday comes along... Bright and shining.. Only as the day goes by does one realise how fruitless it is...

I had fun refreshing my email for hundred times. LOL. I was daydreaming it wasn't weekend and I could get my SA. LOL. Apparently, my batch mates for AOR, got their SAs last friday, and I didn't. :P

So yea. I am making this theory that they processed their app first because they didn't use staples, and I did. :D

Sounds like a fun weekend, eh?
