Still waiting for AOR. Application Oct 22. Called 1-888 number but taking to all kind of automated stuff. will try again....patience is being taught. :(

quasar81, you have to select the right options to get to the agent. once the automated voice is done talking about menu changes i usually press "2", "1", "0" in that order. It takes me to
the customer service operator. Usually they get too many calls and the call is dropped, but it does connect once in a while.
Don't lose hope. Being hopeful is the only thing we can do :)

Kassine, i always thought call centre agents are not those ones who work on the cases. They have no power, no special information, just because they do not work on cases. So why our phone calls slow down the process? I thought they just log to the system, read some info and go, next phone call. Does it not work like this?

Sometimes these call centre agents ask the officers. I called them once and spoke with someone who wasn't sure about the answer. She said she had to put me on hold and ask an officer.

Good morning!
I just got SA by email in PDF attachment.

I found 1 mistake in this letter. it says that I have deferred RPRF fee, and I will be required to pay at later stage. However, I have paid in advance $1040 including RPRF. Please advise in this regards

Congratulations :D

the total application gets a number to identify it in the system. this is calld the file number. The sponsor AND the applicant get their own UCI number, again this is how CIC can identify each person in the system. UCI means something like "unique client identifier".

They do answer phones yes, but like everything else in the government, they do double duty. Those for whom the file has gone to an overseas VO, then they do not work on your file. But for those in Ottawa, they may. Also, I was told that sometimes the VO will "push" some information to Ottawa for the work to be done here, if it is something they can do. Apparently this is very common in government offices. They share the work if one department is too busy. This would mean that the operator does not necessarily work on your specific file, or may have only worked on one part of it, or no part at all.

Hope that makes sense.

Received SA by snail mail today.

Just so you know CIC replies ASAP for MP's inquires . I got an email right away from them, they are very helpful , i passed my application at CPC last sept 2014 until now I havent received any file number. I'm worried for our papers, they said they need my tracking number from purolator to see if they got it. Praying that they will find it and process it right away :(...

An e-mail or letter from CIC saying they have received your letter is an acknowledgement of receipt. They are not always sent out but recently I have read on the forum that they are issued shortly before sponsor approval is approved.

SA stands for sponsorship approval when you sponsor spouse in my case date received means application recieved by CIC .

thanks guys so it means they have recieved my documents . but still the big question is ON. Weather SA IS MADE OR NOT AM I CORRECT.

Yes, Application recieved and SA is very different.
They may have recd your application, but the decision as to whether or not you will get Sponsorship Approval is yet to be made.
But Most people are approved as sponsors under the family class; spouse sponsorship.
This is because CIC does not want to restrict the immigration of young people capable of earning a living and contributing to the Canadian economy.

Wishing you a speedy SA.

So good to hear that people have started getting SAs, looks like they've resumed activity after their holidays and are issuing Sponsorship approvals and making lots of people very happy! :)
