I have lost hope of anything happening. I'm at 86 days and no SA and I had an AOR email 12 days ago and nothing after that. How long after AOR can we expect an SA. None of the thread members got SA last week only AOR and this week it seems like no AOR or SA for anyone. What to do.

Don't lose hope. I think it's just because of the holidays...

I popped over to the parent sponsorship thread and it's blowing up with activity. I think/hope once they finish processing the 5000 applications, maybe, just maybe they will start working on the spousal sponsorships again.

5000?! Does not sound optimistic... Does not sound fast... :o

I have a friend who worked for CIC and she told me that they have separate people who look into parent/spouse/child sponsorship. The backlog in parent's applications should not affect spouse applications.

It's not the backlog I was referring too. It's that on Jan 2nd they opened up the parent sponsorship and are accepting the first 5000 complete applications. Go have a look at the forum and see the flurry of activity.

I would also like to grumble about the fact that if CIC took the money from my debt card now instead of back in October, I could have saved $70 with the recent drop in the Canadian dollar. :-\ I need to go back to bed and wake up tomorrow happy and smiling. Sleep the funky mood away!

is anyone able to see the status online with their AOR, UCI number?

Hi Bhkr, I am able to see the status online with the UCI number that I got in the AOR, but it doesn't say anything there, just Application received.
I wasn't able to log into it for a while but after my husband called them yesterday and they made an enquiry from the call centre for additional details on my application, I've been able to log in. (Doesn't give me much info apart from stuff I already know, though!)

Good morning!
I just got SA by email in PDF attachment.

I found 1 mistake in this letter. it says that I have deferred RPRF fee, and I will be required to pay at later stage. However, I have paid in advance $1040 including RPRF. Please advise in this regards

double check what it actually says. generally, the informtion in the form is "general" and refers to "if" situations (ie: if you did not send in x, thn you'll be asked to send it later) it doesn't specifically mean everything in that letter refers to your case. the only informtion that is personalized are the sponsor/applicant info and the visa office location. everything else is part of the standard form letter. i wouldn't worry too much about it. ASsuming you still have a copy of the receipt, if it is ever asked for later on, all you have to do is send the receipt. it doens't necessarily delay your application, didn't delay mine one bit. it's not something to stress about right now.

copy paste of paragraph
"If the Right of Permanent Residence Fee is applicable to your application and you have chosen to defer payment of that fee, you will be contacted to make the payment at a later date. A Permanent Resident Visa cannot be issued to your relative(s) until this payment is submitted."
