Yes, it's great for those who's applications stay! Very short turnaround. Have you noticed if it's only people who are living in Canada but choose to apply for Outland processing who's applications are staying in Mississauga? The only ones I've read about seem to be already living in Canada.

Mine was processed in Mississauga and i put my address down as living in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Took 83 days from AOR to approval

Yes, I guess those people are living in Canada. But the fact that they have removed as to which visa office the applicant wants to process his/her file in the IMM0008 form creates a lot of doubt in my mind. Don't know what's going on at CIC-M, they are changing rules in all types of immigration categories, none so far for spousal category. :)

Hubby (sponsor) called CIC yesterday and got AOR over the phone. He was advised to wait for 2 weeks for SA...

Congratulations :D

My understanding is that the London office is getting backed up because Pakistan applications have been re-routed there. Like most mysterious happenings at the CIC, it isn't 100% clear as to whose applications stay in Mississauga or Ottawa versus being routed back to London. However I don't think it is applications for people that are only in Canada already. Could be wrong, hopefully our SA comes through this week and I can let you know where our application gets processed!

This is our month for SAs October apps. Fingers crossed!

Yes, fingers crossed for everyone! Would be fantastic to have some progress/news before the holidays start.
It doesn't seem to be only London either. I've seen a number of Sydney applications and a German one as well as London that have all stayed in Mississauga.
Hoping that we are some of the lucky ones!

Indeed. The only thing I can think is they are keeping back the ones they know they don't need to conduct interviews for...or maybe there is some kind of small perk for being Commonwealth?! Good luck to you

I wouldn't be surprised if this is the case. I received an email from the Sydney Visa Office requesting copies of passport pages the same day my partner received his email saying he had been approved to sponsor. I'm one of those people living in Canada who chose to apply outland.

FYI for the debate as to why Mississauga and Ottawa are keeping some outland applications.

There is no official word however most people seem to think it is Mississauga keeping straightforward applications, to try and ease the backlog on other visa offices abroad.

However this kind of makes applicants whose application goes to London feel bad/that their application is weak. My own application went to London.

Others think that perhaps CIC-Mississauga just keeps every 9 applications and sends the 10th to its planned destination. Basically keeping a percentage of applications.

No one will ever know why certain applications are kept and others sent. You can view a spreadsheet for UK applicants applying through London here and you can see that we started recording which visa office has each application.

There really is no rhyme or reason to it. I don't know that I'll feel bad...it just makes sense for them to keep the applications that require less investigation than others. I fully expect mine to go to Sydney for that reason (dependent child etc). It's a "Hoping for the best but expecting the worst" kind if scenario for me.

I have always felt why do they need to send it to the home country than the same visa officer looking approving the SA looking to approve the applicant as well; Yes I know they request the passport and additional documents but I think it will just speed up the process..

No one heard anything today? I feel like CIC has been winding down for the rest of the year, I just hope it hasn't come to screeching halt :-\

I just read some posts from August Outland thread, and there was someone from Brazil who also got their application processed in Mississauga and went to Decision Made in 3 months!
