Mississauga generally does not send out an acknowledgement of receipt. A few people do receive an AOR however it is the exception rather than the rule.ms.m said:How many days will it take to receive aor after we send our application ?
Thank you. How many days for SA? I thought there is aor before sa.andrew-brit said:Mississauga generally does not send out an acknowledgement of receipt. A few people do receive an AOR however it is the exception rather than the rule.
The first contact you will most likely hear from CIC is receiving sponsor approval.
We were in a similar situation in terms of sending an updated forum (we believe we have made a mistake on a form) we promptly called CIC and their suggestion was to wait till they open the package and give the UCI number. Quoting them "It will waste time" to send in an update/correction/additional docs now unless requested.bigredmoose said:It's my understanding that you can't really send additional details or forms until they ask for them. Think about it, without the UCI, they have no way of linking another set of documents to an existing one. Best to wait, I say.

No, this change affects those who apply inland Canada, not outland. It has nothing to do with where Mississauga sends your outland application. Even if Mississauga keeps your application for stage 2 this change does not affect you.Awmf2014 said:I guess this doesn't really help us anymore, because we cannot choose to submit applications in Canada anymore. That is left to the discretion of the immigration officer. I wish I knew about this!

It depends on what your ultimate goal is. If you want to receive PR as soon as possible then I recommend waiting it out via outland. If you want to work as soon as possible then it would seem inland could be faster.Awmf2014 said:Do you think it's worth it to switch from Outland to Inland?
Yes, a lot of applicants over the past 6 months have had their applications kept in Canada (Mississauga or Ottawa) instead of going to the visa office responsible for their home country.Jaffamuzz said:Hi everyone,
Just to update you here (and we'll update the OCT14 spreadsheet too) that we went from AOR to SA within 2 days or so. In addition, the SA letter which we received says something very interesting.
The SA letter states
"You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent
Residence for your relative(s) has been forwarded to a visa office abroad for further processing."
However, the address they have stated for the visa office is "CPC-Ottawa, NHQ - Centralized Processing Region"
then it says, "This visa office was selected based on your relative's home address and the requirements of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act."
The 'abroad' part confused me because it was supposed to be going to Sydney, Australia for processing, but this sounds like a 'standard' letter that they put out.
It certainly appears that the Visa processing is staying in Canada to be processed in Ottawa! I hope I'm right and I hope it's fast!
Anyone else had this happen?
That's great. Is there any quasi-reliable information regarding how long it's been taking for Ottawa to process Spouse visas? The Sydney Australia office's estimate is currently 11 Months! So I certainly hope that Ottawa is less than that.andrew-brit said:Yes, a lot of applicants over the past 6 months have had their applications kept in Canada (Mississauga or Ottawa) instead of going to the visa office responsible for their home country.
It is seen as a good thing, Mississauga has had some really fast decisions, Ottawa has slowed down a bit recently but is still pretty fast.
