Re: October 2012 Applications Under Review

For all those people whose status says Review Required from GCMS notes
Does anyone know how this works? Another 8 months? 1 year? Is there a date for the review to be done??

Thanks!

Guys,

Does CIC send RPRF and Bio Data request from OttPilot-Immigration email ID? Does the email signature have visa officer code? Last few replies from the OttPilot-Immigration had the same visa officer code in the signature. I'm thinking whether she/he is the visa officer who is currently working on my application?

Thanks.

Now, now, folks. This is a good thread with minimal drama. Let's try to keep it this way. The interwebs are no place to flex your interweb muscles, regardless of the bad language or impeccable grammar -- or lack thereof. This is a very useful forum for many people, and there's no point in highlighting anyone's bad judgments, unless of course wrong information was given.

Having said that, I hope everyone here is having a wonderful day and is trying to maintain their sanity. Remember that your application has already been filed and is undergoing review. Unless there's a follow up for additional information, there's really nothing you can do about it. And when there's nothing you can do about something, you should try your hardest not to worry because it's all out of your hands anyways.

Hi Senior's
I have another question, I haven't changed my wife's married name as of yet. However we have been married for 3 years and when we filed for our CEC we mentioned her maiden surname not the married surname.

Due to the hassle of updating work permit and then our current passport which will take more than 2 months to update the name and then so on and so forth my question is.

Do you guys advise me to update this info when i get my COPR, when i re-enter canada and update the immigration officer.

P.S i haven't yet received my medical just my RPRF

Thanks for your help.

1 year today, October 17, 2012 since Application Received and I have heard absoluetly nothing other than an email on December 5, 2012 confirming the receipt of my application.

Anyone else still in a similar position?

Senior's Please advise

Changing last name is not mandatory thing. I know many folks who still use their maiden names. As long as you have supporting your marriage.

Unfortunately I havent received them yet. I only applied for them at the beginning of October so don't expect to have them for a few weeks.
Getting restless now though as I haven't heard a single thing about this whole process and feels like Imm one of the 20% of those who's application takes longer to process. Seems the strike really messed things up.

I would wait for GCMS notes to confirm what's going on. Giving them a call or an e-mail asking for any update on your permanent residency application might also be wise as I think the normal processing time is 12-13 months, so it wouldn't be importuning if you haven't bugged CIC already on what's going on with your file.

Hope you hear something positive soon!

Precisely! However, I would only email CIC about the status of your application if you are having trouble getting GCMS....otherwise it makes no sense. It will take 1 to 2 weeks for them to answer you anyway. From what I have seen, those CIC email replies are all generic and say something like "your file is in queue for review by an officer", which means nothing to you. GCMS will give you - hopefully - a better picture about whats going on.

Let us know when u get them.
