Does anyone has a recently updated status on ECAS rather than "application received"?

If you look at patterns from previous months, it would take a few more months to see any changes (to "In Process").

$490, it's a fee you pay before they issue your immigrant visa

So you don't need to worry about that right now.

Ah I see. Aren't they just sneaky then, I thought the $550 covered the whole process so once one is approved they need to pay an additional $490 then.

4. Right of Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)

For the acquisition of permanent resident status
$490

This fee is payable by principal applicants (with some exceptions) and accompanying spouses and common-law partners. It must be paid before the immigrant visa is issued overseas or before the applicant becomes a permanent resident in Canada.

The following applicants are not required to pay this fee:

dependent children of a principal applicant or sponsor, a child to be adopted, or an orphaned brother, sister, niece, nephew or grandchild; and
protected persons, including Convention refugees.

Hi eng3a,
I can add the new column but it is not required as of now, because it will take another 3-4 months after which Oct applications will start receiving MR request.
May applicants are still waiting for their MR. We can update the table once Oct applicants will have their MR starts rolling in. The e-cas status will update just before receiving the MR request.

Its been 2 months since my payment was deducted and yet no news on the AOR, or anything else.
Great to see, most of you have got your AOR.
Any ideas, why I might be the chosen one?

Unlikely that they take the payment and then reject (at this stage). What is more likely:

- You provided an incorrect email or mailing address
- The AOR email was filtered as spam or the mail was lost
- Somebody at CEC forgot to send AOR out to begin with

I suggest you check your status online. You need your client ID and other personal information to do that.

I had checked(ecas with UCI) that almost 18 days ago, and it showed app received on Oct 24th.
Still shows that. I really have no clue, why my AOR hasnt come. Historical data from this site shows that people were only able to see their applications on ECAS, on the subsequent Tuesday post receipt of their AOR.

Your 3 suggestions look very possible, although I had taken extra prints of my application forms and rechecked them, option 1 is not possible. 2 and 3 still viable.
