For me it took precisely 32 days from the date of Acknowledgement. I received my OCI 3 days ago on 8th April.

It usually would be similar for any adult applying. e.g. if your spouse is not applying for OCI atm, but since you are still married you should include his/her details with supporting documents in your application as well

Hello, If the signatures are different on the Indian passport and Canadian passport, will the Canadian passport signature work on all Canadian documents for self-attestation? For the Indian passport can I do both signatures on the Indian passport copy? or signature matching the Indian Passport only is enough ? Thank you!

In taking a thumb impression for a minor (3 year old), are there any guidelines for what the impression should like? We took over 50 impressions for our kid but the clearest one is somewhat light in colour and we are worried that they not accept it.

Hi, I am hoping someone can help answer my question. I am applying for my OCI card with BLS at the Vancouver Mission. I am applying for an Spouse Based OCI card and I am Canadian Citizen by birth. For my application, do I need my birth certificate? Looking at the checklist, I don't think so, but with BLS I am never sure. I do have my birth certificate but it does not have my parents name on it. I am born in the 70's and back then, parents names were not on the birth certificate. I can get an updated birth certificate with my parents names on it, if need be. Also my husband already has his OCI card and my name is in it. Thanks so much.
Unfortunately there are no guidelines that I came across, just went with what we thought was cleanest for minor (4 months old). it was accepted
If this is for minor, Current Passport, Indian Origin Proof, Indian Visa would be applicable I think. Please do confirm though.
For minor OCI, below docs are required as per my experience.

Indian Origin Proof - Upload passport copies of parents in single pdf
Indian Visa - Upload signed declaration form (I was sent back because it was missed)
Relationship Certificate - Birth Certificate
You need:
Current Passport
Marriage Certificate
Indian Origin Proof (both your Passport and OCI)
Indian Visa (in case your son holds an Indian Visa)
Relationship Certificate (Birth Certificate)
Spouse OCI Card
Spouse Passport
You also need to upload your's and your wife's Declaration that you both have surrendered your Voter ID.
