OCI process

Hi everyone. I have applied for OCI through ottawa jurisdiction. Date of Acknowledgement is June 13. OCI portal still shows "under process". Anyone with similar timelines?
I see from the previous posts in this thread that for toronto its 3 weeks from Acknowledgement to "Processed". Any estimate for Ottawa center?

Ottawa is slow. I got my OCI yesterday (I too am an Ottawa applicant) with an acknowledgement date of May 25th. You will likely see some progress in the next week or 10 days. Cheers!

Is it possible that my wife can pick up OCI (in-person) after it says "Ready For Collection" from Brampton ? Or it has to be the person who apply ?

Originals should be sent today/tomorrow. which jurisdiction? Toronto generally sends it back the day application is acknowledged in OCI portal
3 weeks for OCI printing from acknowledgement date. 1 more week for delivery/pickup

Toronto.. Submitted to BLS Brampton...

@canv_1234 First you need to apply for SC. Best thing to do is book appt at BLS Brampton. If close by.

After you received SC with cancelled PP only then you can apply for OCI you cannot do it together.

For SC it is 60 Gillingham Drive walk-in without appt. 8 AM to 1:30 PM line up starts at 6 AM processing time is about 1 week now

For OCI it is 40 Gillingham Drive walk-in without appt. 8 AM to 1:30 PM line up starts at 6 AM processing time is about 45 days now

I would suggest you to do a mail-in delivery with Purolator after app processing as BLS is forcing applicants to do so by reducing the Pick up window to 3 PM - 4:15 PM this has resulted in line-ups to receive documents in my opinion not worth the time and effort unless you are free in the afternoons. It is about $ 37 per person for courier delivery after processing

All above timelines are for BLS Brampton not Sure about Toronto or any other location from my personal and friends exp.

No personal experience, but I remember reading in this forum that close ones can pickup. I guess there is an authorization letter (or something similar).
Please go through this forum a bit and you will find the answer.

If they were indian citizens earlier they can get entry visa (X-1) in one week. It may be easier for them (they have to deal with VFS) since they are already us residents

Are you saying VFS is better than BLS? If so, I can suggest that to them. My experience with BLS for my OCI and Entry visa was very bumpy, to say the least.

No, no, and of course - NO

For SC, you need these
Original - Indian Passport
Copy (you may carry Originals, I did not, and I was not asked for either)
Bio pages (first and last page) of Indian Passport (latest only)
Citizenship Certificate
Bio page (first page only) of Canadian Passport
Address / ID proof
Application form
One copy of 2"x2" photo (yep, not two - you can use the other for OCI)

Nope. You will pay using debit card for SC.

For OCI, you need draft or cashier's check.

Are you saying VFS is better than BLS? If so, I can suggest that to them. My experience with BLS for my OCI and Entry visa was very bumpy, to say the least.

I would say that VFS may be marginally better than BLS. But again, this can vary from location to location.
