Did they take any originals?
Walk in - Depends on discretion of BLS staff. You should take all originals but mostly cancelled indian passport or surrender certificate is retained. This is based on experience read in the forum
Postal - No originals need to be sent

In both cases you need self attested copies to be submitted with application. Hope this helps

A question from a Friend. They will do SC + Entry Visa walk-in @ BLS Brampton can it be done in 1 appointment or do they need to do it twice ?

Also make sure you go to building 60.
The security insists on taking 2 appointments but you have to convince them.

For Ottawa applicants, I wonder if the OCI is printed in India and physically sent to Ottawa by mail. For most Toronto applicants, I see that the processed, dispatched and received date are all the same. Here I see processed on June 24, Dispatched on June 27 and no date for received in Ottawa. Thoughts fellow applicants?

Did you submit any of your original documents?.It will be great if you could help me out. Thank you

I did walk-in for my child's OCI. BLS kept the Original Birth-Certificate(Long Form) saying Consulate will verify the document and will return it within 2-3 weeks.
BLS will verify original passports and will return it to you on the counter.

for surrender can we book visa appointment since passports appointments are not available for the next few weeks ?

Location Brampton

Everything self attested copy right?. Including Indian & Canadian passport, citizenship certificate?. TIA

I remember reading in the forum that appointment type doesnt matter. They just honor the appointment booking.
No personal experience.

Just to update, my wife has status "Passport ready For Collection after OCI stamping " on BLS. Notes also including the tracking# of the return envelope we included in the package.
Mine is still showing "Under processing at Consulate General".

Mine is saying dispatched on June 21st but still , BLS website showing no detail (Showing Orignal document sent)

On a funny note, this journey (starting from PR application --> OCI completion) has taught me that patience is such an important quality. This forum is so helpful, but every time someone else status goes ahead we tend to wonder why mine is still stuck.
Now my wife and myself send OCI apps together, but wife has "Passport ready For Collection after OCI stamping" since Friday and I am stuck in "Processing at Consulate General" :D
