Final update:
I received my OCI today. Total time from Submission to Receipt @ Vancouver = 37 days
With this my immigration journey finally ends here. And am I glad!

21 March- Submitted OCI @ Surrey BLS via Appointment
21 March - BLS Status: underprocess
25 March - BLS Status: Processing at Consulate General
25 March - OCI Web Status: UNDER-PROCESS (Date Of Acknowledgment: 26 March)
19 April - OCI Web Status: Documents Printing Status - PROCESSED
21 April - OCI Web Status: Dispatched From MEA (OCI ) - NEW DELHI
21 April - OCI Web Status: Document received At - VANCOUVER
22 April - BLS Status: Counter Delivery to BLS Centre after OCI stamping
26 April - BLS Status: Passport ready For Dispatch after OCI stamping
26 April - BLS Status: Dispatched via Courier
27 April - OCI Received

Purolator is delivering it to me today....
Man what a roller coaster this has been. Hopefully dont have to deal with this again in future.

After Surrender certificate has been printed, how long can I expect to wait to receive it in mail?

My certificate took 2 weeks and a Sampark Query to go from printed status to delivery.

Why can't they open up appointments in June and beyond? Do these BLS chaps go on summer vacation or what? No appointment slots - passport, visa or oci - available in May. What are we supposed to do?

I'm not 100% sure on this and may be completely wrong, but I believe that after May 31, the appointment system will be scrapped and it will be walk-ins only. Hence no appointments after that date.

I just checked my status for Surrender certificate .

In passport seva website the status shows - Surrender certificate has been granted and is available for issuance
and in BLS tracking status still shows Processing at Consulate general .

I Dont understand why status shows different on both sites , can anyone shed some light on this

I believe BLS has no tracking of Embassy status, Granted is still not final status, mine is showing Printed at Embassy for last 4 days and BLS is still showing Processing. FYI - My surrender application was sent on March 10 and was accepted by BLS on March 15 so its over 6 weeks now.

CGI Status:
12th April: Under Process
18th April: Surrender certificate has been printed

BLS Status:
12th April: In Transit from BLS Centre to Consulate General
19th April: In Transit from Consulate General to BLS Centre
22nd April (Morning): Ready for dispatch
22nd April (Evening): Dispatched via Courier | SMS from Purolator with tracking number also received

Although excited that it is coming pretty much on a fast time frame, but we are travelling out for a few days, so I just changed the delivery preferences to signature not required and to be left at the front door, from where fellow tenants can keep it until we return.

Update:

23rd April: 'Failed attempt' by Purolator (even when instructions were submitted to be left at the front door)
25th April: SC was finally re-delivered (still left at the front door)
27th April: Came back from vacation (first one on Canadian passport) and received SC in hand
28th April: Going to BLS Surrey for OCI application submission (Lucky enough to get the appointment yesterday)

Will keep you guys posted on the experience today.

PS: The OCI application package was already ready because I had prepared it for submission along with SC on 12th April, but as the Vancouver jurisdiction has also changed the rules recently and now ask for sequential submission, so going for it today.

I gave total 4 & only you reported this issue. It seems it worked for others. I had given it to you yesterday, you tried only now (although it should not matter as I had not shared this with others)? I could have given you other appointment if you had told me yesterday itself.

Unfortunately there is no way to make sure whether it is already cancelled or not. We only know when we try to cancel.

Hi Souvik..same status here - it showed up as printed on Monday and nothing changed on BLS tracker. I raised Sampark query and response was Please contact BLS. BLS saying status still showing as processing in consulate. So frustrating. I sent application on March 3rd via purolator along with my husbands. My husband received his surrender last week and mine still stuck. So annoyed at this point

Just call bls if you had paid for drop off. Sometimes BLS doesn’t update the tracking number and you receive package through courier.
