BLS has updated this in May 2025.
The one I downloaded in April 2025 doesnt need voter id number and ration card number.
The new one does ask for those.
If you dont have these put NEVER APPLIED in front of voter id number or ration card number as applicable.

what should be the application ref number? the one that starts with CANT0?

Thanks, I see two different number one when in the list where you see the partially filled application and one when you actully upload documents, which one should i user?

the application number starts with CAN*********
copy paste that into declaration form.

Hi,

I am from Gujarat and based on your recommendation I would most likely ask my brother or father to submit the application.

1. how can we do that application if we are in Canada? Someone on our behalf will submit application but they need our signature?

2. Do we need to wait till the cancellation of both cards? Or we can do the OCI in parallels by doing sign on the declaration.

1. I did sign a doc and sent thr PDF copy for Ration Card name deletion - That worked for my hometown in suburbs of Mumbai.
2. I would wait for the cancellation to be completed. Because OCI applicants need to submit a signed declaration that both are cancelled/deleted. If the declaration is found to be false - you are liable to face consequences.

Minor application submitted on May 24th now changed to granted status.
Happy to help anyone that may have questions regarding minor using the new portal.

OCI website still shows N/A.
BLS is updated.

your OCI is granted and dispatched from printing cell 1 day later than mine.
So, expect some update on Monday for your OCI.
hopefully you get it by Wednesday.

I combined all Indian docs in one PDF and Canadian docs in one PDF. And then uploaded it.

Can you/anyone please help us out who had experience?.

I am trying to search any old post but now they introduce new portal and below are section in documents upload section. There are three sections and each section has subtype to choose and upload.

1.Proof of present citizenship: Three drop down
Cancelled/surrender Indian passport
Citizenship certificate
Present valid passport

2. Evidence of address

3. Evidence of self or parents or grandparents or great grandparents

Hi you can combine and make one PDF..for example, all Indian docs with surrender certificate and upload it on cancel/surrender certificate.and then upload citizenship certificate and then in present valid passport you can upload all the Canadian docs in one PDF.

And you can upload your license as evidence of address.

Hi Folks,

I am about to initiate the OCI application and in the document checklist it ask for COPR.

The thing is in the covid time I got PR and I dont have COPR available. They just sent a letter saying you are now permanent resident from xxx date.

I also dont have that letter. Will copy of PR card work? Any suggestions?
