Hello All, can you please help me with your inputs on below queries? I am applying OCI for minor and both of us (parents) are Canadian citizens.
(a) Relationship with the Root Indian: what option to select if both parents are now CA citizen (but were Indian earlier)? Can we select either Father or Mother. Or shall we select grandfather / grandmother who are still Indian (but then in that case do we have to share their documents)
(b) we are not planning to take our baby (3 months old) to BLS as he sometimes gets very cranky and fussy and it becomes difficult to handle him.As far as involvement of minor is concerned, I assume that we need to capture his thumb impression on the application form (also upload it online) and carry photos. Apart from this and his other documents, hope nothing else is required. Plz confirm

Are the minors Canadian from birth? If yes, it will be based on parents and with your Canadian passport you will need to upload Indian passport copy too. If you want to go with grandparents it will again have same doc requirement.
god bless you if you follow the BLS call centers team suggestion. Maybe you can call again and hear a slightly different script
What about:
- Canadian Citizenship Certificate to determine when your spouse became a citizen ?
- Copy of the Surrender Certificate ?
If you minor child never had an Indian passport the Root question will Father (or Mother) and you should include your previous Indian passport and SC copies. Also if you as parents have OCI you should include the copy of the OCI card as well(front and back)
Yeah nothing else required by knowing BLS they will pick on the photo you got clicked in Shoppers. So I suggest you take your kid with you I know it a pain but this may work in your favor..
You could, MadamG/SirG you handle our child till we manage the OCI interview

After it's dispatched from Delhi, does the status show up on the OCI website or BLS website?
The above table was from OCI website.
The AWB# relating to the actual delivery of the OCI card to you will be on the BLS website
About 2 weeks but because the holidays expect to take longer.

Many thanks for your response. Yes, baby is born here so no Indian passport for him. Yes we both have OCIs so will include it. Let’s see how we will be able to take him to BLS, it is going to be a challenge. I’m listed as an overseas elector in India and need to cancel my voter registration for my OCI application.
Since I don’t have an EPIC number, the Election Commission of India advised me to first submit Form 6 (to register) and then Form 7 (to cancel the registration). However, my Form 6 application was rejected with the reason: Applicant's name already exists in the electoral roll.
Now I’m stuck because I can’t proceed with Form 7 online.
Has anyone faced a similar issue? Specifically:

I have the same question.
My OCI was dispatched on 23-Jan from Delhi and it is not yet received in Toronto (or at least not yet updated).
How much time does it take? And also - how much time will it take for BLS to mail it back to me?
It’s not like that it gets couriered or something from Delhi to Toronto, it’s a approval and the OCI card is printed locally
With the reduction in consular staff there maybe some impact because of that to update and print document and send it over to BLS for dispatch
