Congratulations. My application was approved in early June 2014, and the file has been transferred to Scarborough CIC a few days thereafter. Still waiting for the oath to be scheduled.

Congrats !!! - RQ2012 and Comestai !!!, I know having waited for so long, this wait may be much more torturous.

Wondering even after approving, why it taking over 3 months just to schedule an Oath ceremony. If its just a formality, why not CIC hire some large premises to conduct ceremonies for large batches and clear the back log fast.

I agree with you. They can do a large ceremony at once and clear off those already Approved/Granted. No reason to keep people waiting.

Hi Everyone,

I have been reading all the comments and criticism on this forum for a while silently. Just like you, my case was also being processed at St. Clair's office. I am one of those 2011 applicants who is still waiting for oath letter. I spoke to CIC this afternoon and was advised that my application has been approved by CJ and has been transferred to Scarborough for the ceremony. I did not ask her the date of file transfer but seems like I am close to the ceremony. However, I do criticize CIC for taking so many months for processing a citizenship application, especially when you send them solid proofs of residency in Canada. Sometimes, I feel like they took more time to process my application because I sent them too many documents along with RQ.

My timeline is given below:

Application received: Sept 30, 2011
Processing started: May 30, 2012
RQ: June, 2012
Responded to RQ: July, 2012
Test: June 5, 2014
Oath: waiting

I hope these information will be helpful to our readers.

Thanks,

Perhaps, CIC try hard to justify the tax payers why they still need millions in budget and support thousands of worthless souls at CIC.They does not want to easily give up their grip on helpless candidates.

In reality, if things improves at CIC, they would not be needing so many useless staff there.

Please refer to a comment by reader on this forum : https://secure.immigration.ca/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=17991&KW=Oath&PID=225851&title=scarborough-time-to-oath-for-transferred-rq-apps#225851

Per this reader, his MP confirmed Scarborough Office taking up to 6 months to schedule Oath ceremony, once a file is transferred to their offices. May be this is applicable only to RQ candidates and NOT to everyone. Still, its just unbelievable, unacceptable and unnecessary torture.

What questions were you asked in your citizenship interview?

My interview with the officer was pretty good, as he was very courteous individual. He asked me few questions about my family, education and profession. Then he told me you prepared well for the test, scored full marks and processing could take up to 4 months time. I guess, normally that's how is their approach with all candidates.

Unacceptable. It seems the CIC doesn't give a $h @ & how frustrating and mind numbingly stressful it is to wait 3 yrs for a piece of paper.

Same here. I think if they'd wanted to reject it then that would have been the right moment to tell you of the outcome. Given that they haven't done so I wouldn't worry much.
