i just called CIC and they said my file is in Ottawa now but experiencing the 16months delay. And they did not say anything about security or criminal check even started or not. Why?
Im Dec 21st applicant and right now still BG not needed. Does it mean that i have to wait until April 21st so that it can move on to BG check? And BG check still needs several months to finish, OMG!!! Im so worried about this. The process is killing me. Any applicant has the same status with me?

Yeah same status as you. Am December 21 applicant. Still BG not applicable.

Then both of our cases are under final review which is the very last step, according to umanitoba's notes.

Have you called the cic to check if your security is cleared or not?

My Criminal check is done. I don't know is the final review a part of " security check " to get the security check cleared? Or the final review is processed after the security check is cleared.

I think we have the same officer working on our files. My BG changed to in progress on 13. Jan. 2017. Security is not completed yet. Is our officer on vacation? Or very meticulous?

I blame this March break.
On another hand, I can't stop imagining we all would be enjoying the wonderful March break in Canada in the coming years. I am smilying ;D

you all do realize we don't have any holidays on March right? It's just school holidays and not everyone will take vacation hours

It is ture that this is not a national holiday. The thing is, this is the last month if anyone have vacation days left they will need use those vacation leave. As the kids are off school, a lot of people will go on vacation during this period.

Hi I have a question for all who landed at border do you really have to show a proof of valid status?

I'm planning to do my landing to Coutts next week, but my open work permit expired already.. I got my copr a day before my permit expires.. I tried to apply online for extension but it didn't go through due to technical problem.. so now I'm under restoration period for my status and i didn't apply for anything at all.. ( thinking that my copr is my legal status in Canada ) though I'm wondering if that's gonna be a problem having no valid status when you go the border.. but I read one from other forum that they got no any problem when they did their landing with expired work permit... And i think they will ask for all your work permit for them to keep it..

anyway if you can share your landing/flagpole experience and any advice will greatly appreciated!

Im planning to do my landing/flagpole after my vacation from philippines..may i ask somebody who already did this. What are the documents needed to allow u to re enter canada.
