Ha! Well that's definitely an endorsement for how good the clinic is then! If my husband can't find anything here, maybe we'll have to take a trip to Manchester.
I actually mentioned your predicament and the doctor said he’s heard appointments can be tricky across Europe. It was definitely a very positive experience and the doc was great.

Oh really! Well, maybe if my bellyaching reaches enough doctors' ears around the world then IRCC will have to do something about it!:p

But seriously, obviously I imagine it would have a lot to do with immigration patterns, but even so you would think the IRCC would certify more places in order to address the demand. If they want us to do them within 30 days, then they can't also have their tiny number of approved clinics in a given area be backed up for 6 weeks or more

Oh! My husband JUST texted me to tell me that he finally talked to someone and managed to get an appointment! It's in Frankfurt for two weeks from now. He'll have to take the 6 am train, and it'll be an 8-hour roundtrip, but at least we'll get it (barely) done in time! o_O:rolleyes:

My husband was in the same boat. Two doctors in Rabat, 2 in Casablanca and he’s in Kesh. Biometrics only avail in Rabat. Almost an entire 24hrs of travel and apts. It’s kinda crazy. Luckily for him at least, there wasn’t a backlog of apts, so he did get in rather quickly. Good luck to your husband with his!!! :)

Oh lord, 24 hours? This is why I don't really want to complain too much! I know some people have to travel much further than us! Although I still think it's a bit crazy that in our case we live in the capital city, of all places, and we STILL have to travel so far!:rolleyes: I hope your husband was able to at least do biometrics and medical in one trip?!

So many hoops to get through this process -- and most other people seem to have no idea either. My husband was saying today that people at his work are always like, "oh but you're married; it must be so easy to move to Canada." Not exactly...

I always get, “Is it not like America with green cards”...

I wish marriage equalled easy entrance :(

And I would imagine it's no easier to get into the US these days either!

There definitely was a time not that long ago, maybe 40 years ago, when you could just waltz into the embassy with your marriage certificate and passport and be done with it, but those days are clearly long gone. When we mailed our paperwork it weighed nearly a kilo! Admittedly, our application was even more work because as the sponsor I am also living outside Canada and had to provide extra docs to prove my intention to return somehow, but still. It's crazy to me to think that people even bother with marriage fraud, given how difficult the whole process is!

He was able to do both yes, thankfully. We waited it out for the medical just for that reason lol. Luckily the IRCC powers that be made it happen. Damn, yea you’d think the capital city would have the resources. Smh.

Hahahaa oh man...this process is def a lesson in patience if nothing else. And others def have no idea! My husband forever gets the, Oh you married a western....you must have your visa to go out now!
I am thankful every day for this forum tho. It’s been a life saver. Everyone is so helpful and it’s been very reassuring to know we’re all in this together!

Was your medical an e-medical? Where they take the photos at the medical?
There are 2 kind of medical facilities. One which take the photos themselves and the other one which needs the applicant to take passport size photos.
I went to the first one where they took the picture. Their results uploading time ranged from 2-3 days while the other ones can take up to 7 days.

Is there a trick to getting to the actual page to check my application status with all the messages and details? It keeps defaulting back to the same page over and over and it only tends to get to the page I'm looking for once in a great blue moon.

I’m going to assume you’re referring to GCKEY. Are you able to login, answer the secret question and then it takes you to a page with your application or is it not letting you get that far?

You can find which countries the Singapore VO serves here:

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/corporate/contact-ircc/offices/international-visa-offices.html#s

There’s a Singapore thread for timelines that might be able to help you too:

Hey guys!
Just a quick question (December 2018 applicant here)
Is the delivery time of the PA’s medical, from the clinic to the immigration ( which would take 10-13 days according to the clinic), included in the 30 days time frame given for the medical to be done?
Coz, we still have to wait for one week for the IOM to be done coz my wife (the PA) is still on her period which prohibits her to take the IOM test.
