Yes :)

It's not gonna change for the mean time until a decision has been made. That Eligibility Review is both for the Sponsor and the PA. :)

Oh OK :D :D. I was made to believe on the August thread that eligibility on my CIC was only for PA and wouldn't start till SA is approved. This is what I have on my CIC.

Did you at least get a receipt with a tracking number? That way you can see if it got to Missisauga

Yes. That's what they never scanned. When we check the tracking number, it just says "in transit" but the scan logs never show it left the post office. We have an escalated ticket open with Canada Post but other than that...it seems we just have to hope they got it? I'm slightly panicking here that we need to start all over.

Hey, maybe you are right. :D That it is only for the PA. I was made to believe that it's for both the sponsor and PA because the agent told us so. Lol. Heck, sometimes they are not reliable at all. Lol. Mine changed already to IP even though we have not received any SA yet. Maybe we have been approved much earlier without knowing it. :D Only got the SA after calling them about it. :D We have the same status. :)

Am sure u have been approved already as same happened to us. Apparently they send the SA emails in batches and I believe that notion because everyone seems to get it at the same time

Does anyone know how to get a hold of Vic office from outside Canada by phone? Is there a phone number??

Hey Everyone!
I've FINALLY gotten an email saying they received my application! I was beginning to think it was lost in the mail. I got the email this morning, but it said it was received Nov. 21, 2016 (and yes, I've updated the spreadsheet). I haven't had any luck linking my account, or getting into eCAS, but from what I've read here, it will take a while. Until then, should I expect more updates by email? Or will all the updates be online, through eCAS or MyCIC?

Coming to a month now and still no SA. This is extremely frustrating.

Did you get AOR1? When was your application received? You can update your information on your profile, and you should also add yourself to the November spreadsheet!

I agree that this is frustrating... Waiting is turning out more difficult than putting together the application!

Hi

I would suggest you to call CIC call center because I haven't received an e-mail yet.
I was in same position as yours but I called CIC call centre as it was > than 22 days.
CIC call centre confirmed that SA has been approved.

Same thing might have happened with your case

Quick Update:
Got Sponsorship approval on 30th November. (took 23 days exactly)
I checked ECAS today 1st December 2016 and it says:
- Sponsorship:
"In process" (even though I got the approval email already saying you have met sponsorship requirements and your relative's file is forwarded to New Delhi Office)

- PR application :
"In process"
"Received application on 7th November 2016"
"Medical results received."

Congrats, now the wait begins. My file was transferred to New Delhi last week too :)

Congratulations on receiving your SA!

AOR1 is received before SA and is simply an acknowledgement that your application was received and opened by CIC. Everyone should receive one (some people do not due to oversight, incorrect email, or other factors). It's not a request for more information nor is it a bad thing to receive.

Hello,

Our records show that you may be a permanent resident (PR) of Canada. This email is a reminder that you must present your valid Permanent Resident Card (PR Card) or permanent resident travel document (PRTD) when boarding a flight to Canada.

Canadian permanent residents who do not present a valid PR card or PRTD may be denied boarding their flight to Canada for not having the appropriate travel documents.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your PR card is still valid when you return from travel outside of Canada. The expiry date is printed on the card. If your PR card is expired or will expire within six months, you should apply now to renew your card.

If you are in Canada and do not currently have a permanent resident card or your card is expired, find out how to apply for a permanent resident card.
If you are outside of Canada and do not have a PR card or your card is expired, find out how to apply for a permanent resident travel document (PRTD).
Plan ahead and check the processing times to receive a valid PR card or PRTD before your next international trip.

Please note that if you believe you no longer meet Canada’s permanent residency requirements, your permanent resident status must be resolved before you can apply for a visitor visa or an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA). For example, if you choose to give up (renounce) your permanent resident status, you can then apply for an eTA or a visa. Learn more about your residency requirements and your options as a permanent resident of Canada.

We encourage you to share this information with your family and friends as we want to avoid Canadian permanent residents experiencing travel delays because they don’t have the appropriate travel document to board a flight to Canada.

Thank you,

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada

OK so we got the SA, but never an AOR1, but we dont NEED to have the paper right? Or is the AOR1 more of a courtesy? Like no one at the CIC is going to asking where our AOR1 is when we get to the border right?

You won't need the AOR email for anything. As you said, it's a courtesy to acknowledge your application has been received. Now with mail tracking and application linking online, they are almost obsolete, in my opinion. They do provide the application number and sponsor's UCI though, so some people like to have them. None of the information is necessary, however. No worries!
