hi guys, i received an email today asking me to submit passport style photos as well as copies of the pages of my passport.. bit confused about the photos since i already submitted those with my application but alrighty.. so long as this means i'm approved! ecas has been changed to decision made which at first i got VERY excited about but then after reading the email i'm left a bit confused. it says this:

"Your application for admission to Canada as a Permanent Resident may now be ready to be finalised, conditional to a final admissibility review by the immigration officer. Your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) Form(s) will be valid for your initial entry to Canada until 11/16/2015 (mm/dd/yy)."

and then later this:

"2. VISA VALIDITY

The issuance of your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s) is time sensitive so it is important for you to submit your passport(s) when requested.

Once you receive your Confirmation of Permanent Resident document(s), please check the information on it to make sure it is correct. If there are any errors, such as incorrect spelling of name or incorrect date of birth, please inform CPC-Ottawa Visa Office immediately. Your name will appear in the same format as it appears in your passport.

Your permanent resident visa will expire one year after the date of your medical examinations. If your passport or the passports of your spouse or dependent children (if applicable) expire on an earlier date, the visa will expire on the earlier date.

You must travel to Canada and present your immigration documents at a Canadian Port of Entry before they expire. The validity of the Confirmation of Permanent Resident documents cannot be extended. If you fail to enter Canada before this date and still wish to immigrate to Canada, you must reapply by submitting a new application and paying new processing fees. All such applications will be assessed according to the immigration laws in force at the time of receipt of the application. There is no guarantee a future application would be successful. "

so ok, i submit the requested photos and copies of my passport pages but i have until the 11/16 to actual enter canada or else?? is this email my COPR?? there are some forms at the bottom of the email but they just appear to be asking for any changes in family situation and have instructions for the photos.. the date provided doesnt even match the date my medical was done?? sorry for the length!

You'll receive your COPR by mail after you submit the photos & the pw copies. Usually COPRs are valid till one year after medicals unless they give an extension. It seems you have been given a small extention till 11/16 which is one year after the day you filed your application. Nevertheless, once you receive your COPR the date will be written on it.

It's been about 3 weeks since our application status changed to "Decision Made". Still nothing in the mail yet :( I have emailed the Ottawa VO ( Where my spouses application was sent ) to see what is going on. I still haven't gotten a response. Im assuming they aren't usually prompt at replies. Has anyone else had a slow wait after they got a "decision has been made"?

Guys finally my application status is In process

You guys,

I just received my passport and COPR today!! Wait is finally over, now my partner and I are organizing ourselves to go to the closest entry point to finally land.

Thank you so much for all the info and support you have provided, and good luck to everyone else!!

I got a decision made and passport request on 18 Aug, 2015 finally!

I need to submit a passport via online (visa-exempt country) and 3 passport size photos. Should i write my name on the back of my passport photos?

I paid the RPRF before when I submit my application, should I also send CIC a copy of the receipt?

Hey fellow traveller, you've made it!
So happy for you. Wishing you all the best!

I figured I will ask this here, We got a decision made back in June. My huband is from the USA but residing here in Canada with me. So his application went to Ottawa. 2 months later we haven't heard anything from them after having a decision made. Has anyone else who has the Ottawa VO in a similar situation? or anyone in general. I've tried calling the support centre and they have given me no help :(

So happy for all those who have gotten their PRs already.

There's still a few of us left, likely all applicants from VO that is elsewhere than Ottawa. Hang tight guys, I'm sure our turn is just around the corner.

Just praying we aren't spending another cold winter in Canada alone again.

Just letting folks knowni got my PR card in the mail Sept 19 if anyone is wondering about a timeline. Just over two month wait.

Hi gents/ladies,

The PR request came on Oct 15th. They received the pass on Oct 20th and then on Oct 23rd the online status changed to "Decision Made". Do you know how many days does it usually take to receive the passport back with the visa ? We sent them via a prepaid courier. Also, will there be any other email from them saying passport sent or something like that? We have a plane ticket bought for Nov 20th, I hope it'll arrive in time, they are saying 15 working days max or so.

As for the PR card, you said it took 2 months to get it in the mail. Is there anything you have to do once you land (applying for the card) or so, or does it come in the mail at the address you provided (spouse address) ?

Your help is appreciated.

Thx

i got my ppr and copr 2 weeks ago, just wanted to tell you this is finally over for me too. Good luck to everyone else :-*
