jainanchal, i have a question just out of curiosity. also if anyone else wants to tell, please do : )

how long were you and your spouse together before you decided to get married? i'm always curious to see this as my husband and i got married only after 10 months of being together. i worry that they will question me and possibly deny me for it, but so much has happened within those 10 months that it feels like a relationship of 10 years. i'm not nervous about an interview, because i'd be more than happy to show them how much i love this man, but i just wonder if that's going to make the chances of an interview higher.

well, for us here's how it happened...
found out about her through a common friend in Canada, she gave me her number...

and the time line begins ...
- first phone call to india end of october
- talked over the phone for a month
- visited india in december
- met her for the first time lets say tuesday (with family)
- thursday met with full family (at my house)
- friday met with her family (at her house)
- sunday customery pre-engagement (indian culture, without ring)
- went on 3 dates after that for the stay in india
- back to canada, wedding date finalized in feb, went back to india in april, and got married

so over all from the started to talk to the day to get married 6 months exact...how much time we spent together...3 dates...

If you don't mind sharing, did you choose arranged marriage or not in your application? The general definition of arrange marriage is that parents choose and decide. In your case, you guys met first, then had families meet. Presumably getting their "permission" to get married... then went on dates, etc before the wedding. My situation is similar, but the timeline from meeting to getting married is longer.

Youre absolutley right jainanchal, the length of relationship shouldnt determine your love for each other. I think the distance between the two people always makes the relationship grow faster and stronger : )

I submitted stuff before they ask this way there is no delays. Yes you submit everything you have to your visa office.

We have emailed additional pictures, FB info via email to add to the file.

You can email as long as the file is not too huge

I have only submitted one package of proof that was in April since I submitted our application. The proof package was 60 pages.

We sent just to provide additional proof that the marriage is genuine.. we included stuff showing my DIL meeting family for the first time as she is here on a TRV... having dinner with my son's friends now their friends... first time in the snow... and first picture of their unborn child.

I would we also applied in nov so from nov until mar we sent in his plane ticket, my plane ticket, phone records, emails, bank statements, phone credit receipts, bank receipts. I am going to send pictures soon.

Cause first, we applied as Common-laws, so it needs much more evidence than Marriage Applications, I think.
And there has been so many things that happened from Oct. to now!

And I miss my man!!

Oh good idea, do you have a link or anything?! I was wondering how that would work since although I won't be the biological mother I will still be adopting them via second parent adoption. We aren't doing IVF, we're going to try the old turkey baster method (not LITERALLY of course) not sure if that makes a difference..

Unfortunately, to transmit US citizenship at birth, you have to be biologically related. If you're adopting, you'll have to file an N-600K. BTW, for getting the Consular Report of Birth Abroad the best evidence for residency in the US was school transcripts...I assume it's the same for proving residency for N-600K purposes.

Hey All-
Just wanted to let you know that I received my COPR in the mail this morning!!! Less than a week after ECAS changed to Decision Made.

This process took 181 days, or exactly 6 months. My plan is to land tomorrow.

I can't thank you all enough for answers and support given in the past 6 months. I was quite the lurker on here and just recently started posting. Thank you thank you thank you!!
