@Miss bee
My Non express entry application was returned as I did not have a birth certificate and the school certificate I used for proof did not have my Father's name.
I have reapplied with a affidavit as I am still unable to get a birth certificate. Would that be acceptable by IRCC? Please advise.

Another question is I have added my son as my dependent and he will be 22 years next year. What is the lock-in for the date of birth of children when adding them as dependent. Please advise.

Hi @Miss bee i hope you are well, what are the reasons an application can be returned. Im hoping i will get my AOR soon but im worried if it will be returned

Thank you so much @Miss bee. I will be raising a webform to clarify my doubts.
I just hope sending webform won't further delay my application processing as I heard that they usually put a pause on application anytime a webform is received by them.
Not true at all . You can send million webforms to inquire about your application. There is no rule .

For your application, IRCC generally accepts an affidavit if a birth certificate is unavailable, especially if you’ve provided a clear explanation of why the birth certificate is unobtainable. Be sure the affidavit includes identifying information, like your father’s name and other details proving your identity, as this strengthens its credibility. However, final acceptance is at IRCC’s discretion, so additional verification may be requested.
For your son’s dependent status, IRCC “locks in” the child’s age at the time you submit your PR application. As long as he was under 22 at the application submission date, he will be considered a dependent child for the duration of the processing, even if he turns 22 before the application is finalized.

When submitting a PR application, several common reasons can lead to a return without an Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR). Ensuring these areas are addressed in your re-submission should improve your chances of moving forward without further issues. Here are typical reasons applications get returned:
1. Incomplete or Missing Documentation: Missing critical documents (e.g., birth certificate, identity proofs) or any required documentation not translated into English or French can result in a return. In your case, providing an affidavit in place of a birth certificate should help if it’s clear and detailed.

2. Incorrect or Incomplete Forms: All forms need to be filled out completely and accurately. Even small errors, like missing a signature or leaving a required field blank, can lead to a return.

3. Missing Fees: IRCC requires payment of the correct fees for each applicant. Applications are often returned if fees are not included or if payment information is incorrect.
4. Inconsistent Information: If there are inconsistencies between your forms and supporting documents, IRCC may return the application. Ensuring that personal details like names, dates, and addresses match across all documents is essential.

5. Not Meeting Minimum Requirements: Some applications are returned if they don’t meet minimum requirements specific to the immigration program, like language test results or proof of work experience.

6. Unclear Evidence for Dependent Relationships: If you’re claiming dependents, ensure that documents clearly demonstrate your relationship with them (e.g., birth certificates listing parent names or other family proofs).

If your application is complete with a well-documented affidavit, all necessary fees, and consistent information, you stand a good chance of receiving your AOR soon.

Hi @Miss bee : I reverted my portal-2 on October 4th but haven’t received my eCOPR yet. In the tracker, I can see the COPR document number. What does this number mean? If this number has been generated, can I assume that my PR has been approved?

The COPR document number in the tracker typically indicates that IRCC has generated your Confirmation of Permanent Residence (COPR) document, which usually happens when your PR application is at the final stages of approval. Seeing this number is generally a positive sign that your PR has likely been approved. However, it doesn’t guarantee that the process is fully complete until you receive your eCOPR, which serves as your official confirmation of PR status. The delay could be due to processing backlogs or additional checks on IRCC’s end, but the presence of the COPR number is a good indication that you’re very close to finalizing your status.

@Miss bee Thank you so much for your help. I really appreciate that you are always here to assist me.

Since you are now residing in the province that nominated you, this should demonstrate your commitment to live and work there, which addresses a common reason for nomination withdrawals. As long as you continue to comply with the nomination terms and maintain residence in the nominating province, this may reduce the risk of issues with your application. Since your background check is already in progress, this suggests your application is moving forward. And also there will be no impact on your current application due to previous refusal as long as you declared it in your present application.
Thank you @Miss bee! Yes i declared it. I have been transparent with the IRCC. Also does non accompanying dependent needs to do biometric?

@Miss bee , hi, sorry to bother, but I have a question, I got a work permit (because of non-ee nomination) that is valid until mid 2026, if my non-ee application gets refused, does my work permit also get refused or is it valid until 2026?

Hi @Miss bee , thank you for all you do here. Please I am an outlander applicant. We received our PAL in September ending, and till we haven't received any other update from IRCC. I am beginning to be very anxious as IRCC processing times for AIP application keeps going up. I got any update the last time that Background and medical verification are valid I am just wondering what next.
Please do you have an idea how IRCC calculate the processing timeline for AIP applications. Is it from the date of submission or AOR? I am asking because from the date of my application submission it is already 8months and few days.

Thank you

If your PR application is refused, your work permit remains valid until expiry date on it .

Typically, IRCC calculates the processing timeline for the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) from the date of submission, not the Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR). However, it’s important to note that this can vary slightly depending on individual case complexities.
Since you’ve already received the PAL and confirmation that your background and medical verifications are valid, it usually means you’re in the final stages, awaiting the completion of the last verification checks, such as the security assessment. For AIP, processing can sometimes go beyond IRCC’s stated timelines, but receiving a PAL is a strong indicator that things are progressing.
