Hi @Miss bee , thank you for all you do here. Please I am an outlander applicant. We received our PAL in September ending, and till we haven't received any other update from IRCC. I am beginning to be very anxious as IRCC processing times for AIP application keeps going up. I got any update the last time that Background and medical verification are valid I am just wondering what next.
Please do you have an idea how IRCC calculate the processing timeline for AIP applications. Is it from the date of submission or AOR? I am asking because from the date of my application submission it is already 8months and few days.

Thank you
I got PAL in April and still waiting... there is no way to know when they will finalize the process... lets hope for the best.

@Miss bee , hi, sorry to bother, but I have a question, I got a work permit (because of non-ee nomination) that is valid until mid 2026, if my non-ee application gets refused, does my work permit also get refused or is it valid until 2026?
If your PR application is refused, your work permit remains valid until expiry date on it .

Typically, IRCC calculates the processing timeline for the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) from the date of submission, not the Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR). However, it’s important to note that this can vary slightly depending on individual case complexities.
Since you’ve already received the PAL and confirmation that your background and medical verifications are valid, it usually means you’re in the final stages, awaiting the completion of the last verification checks, such as the security assessment. For AIP, processing can sometimes go beyond IRCC’s stated timelines, but receiving a PAL is a strong indicator that things are progressing.

When submitting a PR application, several common reasons can lead to a return without an Acknowledgment of Receipt (AOR). Ensuring these areas are addressed in your re-submission should improve your chances of moving forward without further issues. Here are typical reasons applications get returned:
1. Incomplete or Missing Documentation: Missing critical documents (e.g., birth certificate, identity proofs) or any required documentation not translated into English or French can result in a return. In your case, providing an affidavit in place of a birth certificate should help if it’s clear and detailed.

2. Incorrect or Incomplete Forms: All forms need to be filled out completely and accurately. Even small errors, like missing a signature or leaving a required field blank, can lead to a return.

3. Missing Fees: IRCC requires payment of the correct fees for each applicant. Applications are often returned if fees are not included or if payment information is incorrect.
4. Inconsistent Information: If there are inconsistencies between your forms and supporting documents, IRCC may return the application. Ensuring that personal details like names, dates, and addresses match across all documents is essential.

5. Not Meeting Minimum Requirements: Some applications are returned if they don’t meet minimum requirements specific to the immigration program, like language test results or proof of work experience.

6. Unclear Evidence for Dependent Relationships: If you’re claiming dependents, ensure that documents clearly demonstrate your relationship with them (e.g., birth certificates listing parent names or other family proofs).

If your application is complete with a well-documented affidavit, all necessary fees, and consistent information, you stand a good chance of receiving your AOR soon.
Thanks for your input always @ Miss bee. On your number 2 response, please I need a clarification: if we leave email addresses of our siblings and children blank, like we didn't fill anything there, can't it lead to application return?

Also, in form 5669, the question about having a military/ or para military background and government job, if we leave it blank cos it's not applicable can it lead to return of application, waiting for your response.

I submitted my Non-EE OINP PR file on 23rd July 2024. I have also submitted a Copy of my Birth certificate. (It's in English and states that the following information has been taken from the original record of Bith, which is in the city register.)
Should I submit the original birth certificate (native language, Gujarati) and an English copy?

I don’t think so it will be a problem or return your application however some officers are really picky when doing R10 completeness checks but never heard or saw application returned due to these errors.

If your original birth certificate is in English as well as in other language, you don’t need to submit anything however if you translated it , it should be done by certified translator .
That translation must be

  • of the original document, or
  • of the certified copy of the original document, and
  • certified by a certified translator, or in the event that the translation cannot be provided by a certified translator, it must be accompanied by an affidavit, and
  • included with the application
Documents that are already in English or French do not have to be translated, even if the application is in the other official language. For example, an application completed in French may be accompanied by an English document. A translation of the English document is not required.

Important: Supporting documents in a language other than English or French can either be the originals or certified photocopies of the originals. Officers can refer to the IRCC Glossary for a definition of certified and additional guidance on who can certify a photocopy.

When a certified copy of the original document is submitted, the accompanying translation must be of the certified copy and the translator must stamp both the certified copy and the translation.

@Miss bee

I am PR inland applicant, while my dependent(wife) is in India. We got a letter for passport submission for my wife. But it also shows below given message.
"You are not required to submit your passport and will be landed virtually. Please advise our office via webform within 5 days of receipt of this letter if you and/or any of your dependents are in Canada. Please include each person’s name/UCI and where they are currently staying/residing (in Canada or overseas). "

So, I am confused here how I can do virtual landing? I never generated the webform can you please direct me for raising webform?

I submitted an application online. I found a misspell on mom family name. I am planning to submit the webform.

My question is this time since I have to fill in the pdf file. Do I need to print out and sign it, or just type full name on signature and submit webform?
