Hello everyone, I'm a Chartered Accountant working in Pakistan. We have a 4 years full time mandatory training period (article ship). I just want to know whether it will be counted as my work experience for the purpose of FSW application?
It would not be counted towards full time paid job.

No wonder you got through so quick. I didn't send PCC with application. However ive since done it. The probably sidestepped the background Check for you. I'm still hoping for the best. I did send in a lot of extra stuff too. Hopeful
I think including all that extra info helped to make it easier to perform the background check and hence not take as long. They will ask for the PCC when they send you MR so it's good that you have it ready to send. Honestly, though, I thought that by time KVO was ready for me, my PCC would even have expired (it's valid for 9 months). Glad I was wrong :).

Hi Team,

I have applied under NOC 1111 for FSWP.

I was wondering how the job market in Canada is for Indian Chartered Accountants. Are they required to clear UFE exam of Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants before applying for job anywhere in Canada or Indian CA Degree can be accepted for jobs.

I am also doubtful about the availability of jobs there, coz once immigration is done, a decent job is required to sustain. I am working in one of the Big Four accounting firms in India. Don't know how much that would be helpful in securing a job in their Canada office. The thing is that Canadian economy is not as big as US and as a result not much jobs are created there i.e. supply is more and demand is less in market. And nobody would like to do side jobs there after having professionally qualified.

Can anyone throw some light on this.

Thanks in advance.

Hi, like all big life decisions, it is expected that you do your research first before making any major choices. Please read this link to get an idea what the reality if life is like in Canada for a transplanted professional, http://canadianimmigrant.ca/work-and-education/is-there-a-skills-mismatch-between-newcomers-and-what-canada-needs
You should also research reciprocity agreement between Indian accounting bodies and Canadian accounting bodies for mutual recognition of qualifications. All the best.

I am an indian national working in US. I want to apply under NOC 1111. Do I need a lawyer or can I directly apply? What is the approximate processing time?

You can directly apply and the use of consultant is optional.

Hi obryan, I am expecting received my file number by mid of November, would you suggest me to go for PCC now itself and be prepared or should I wait until I receive file number.

Thanks a lot.

Hey

If the PCC will take long to get such as that for the US from the FBI (which I think now takes 12 weeks to get) then you should start the process from now. Otherwise, if it is something that will take less than a month, then you could wait until you get the file number and then start the process.

Forum friends

By the grace of God, today (Friday Oct 31, 2014) I got back my Passport with Visa and COPR!! My app was filed May 21, 2014 so it is now exactly 5 months and 10 days since my app was received and one month since processing began. I am so excited, it's almost impossible to contain it.

I would like to thank everyone here on this forum for the support and valuable information imparted, especially in the initial months when not much was known or very clear. I can never repay you guys, but I will always help as many as I can, like the ones who helped me.

On my ECAS, it is still showing "In Process" with 3rd line , still no Decision Made, but I foresee ECAS will finally catch up on Saturday.

Wish everybody a successful visa journey.

All the best & Meet you in Canada! :D

Hey Guys,

I am not sure whether this topic has been dealt before here. However, i still require suggestions on this:

I have total 6 years experience post qualification. Out of which 3 years were mandatory training/articleship required for attaining the status of member from ACCA.

My concern is while calculating points how much shall i consider:

3 years which is post mombership ie after completing mandatory training, or

6 years which is in total.

Further, to my above query this is really effecting my application now as i am unable to provide documents for my uncle as proof of residence who is a citizen but not residing there.

Regards,

FRG
